First, try downloading the demo from another site (so, instead of downloading it from site 1 go download it from site 2). It might be a corrupted file from the download site.

Or, make a new game and try it then. It could be a corrupted save file.

The only other thing I can suggest is try selling items to a different vender. It could be a bad piece of coding on that one merchant.

I would Email Jeff about this since he doesn't read the boards very often.

You know how it says an item is worth, let's say, 200? In Avernum, when you sell it, you only get a fourth of the items price. So lets say that each Gold Necklace says its worth 100 coins. When you sell it, it'll be worth 25 coins. It's very annoying and I honestly don't know what Jeff does this for Avernum, but there you know.

What race are you? Race will increase the need amount of skill points put into a skill to unlock the hidden skill.

I don't think that would have worked out. Endlessly charging in Sliths would make it very difficult to escape the cave. I think there should have just been a dozen weak scourges with strong guards. That would have been more realistic to me then essentially 3 more triad-ies.

If you do all of his quests, Gladwell will eventually have the power to overthrow Starrus and rule Avernum. He is a lot crueler then Starrus.

Most games on my Comp are saved as documents. It makes them more convenient to find and use.

I mean, Jeff could make you create a "special" folder for his saved games, but why do that if you can just use Documents?

Giant Intelligent Friendly Talking Spiders. There are some that appear in every Avernum game and the BoA scenario Vally of Dying Things.

I don't think that it would be very good meat. You'd need trained hands to hunt them, tame them, and then farm them, and I've only seen a small handful of chitrach hunters in the entire series at any given time.
