I installed the patch and G5 runs fine, for the most part, even if I turn the draw all option back all... but it still lags somewhat when I'm carrying a lot of items and I try to open my inventory, or (especially) sell stuff.

4 was a very close second, but I really liked Alwan and Gretta.

Personally, I think everyone is wrong (at least in G3 and G4). Shapers are dictators, Rebels are uncontrollable maniacs, and Trakovites have a point, but that point is blown out of proportion. If forced to choose sides, I'd have to go with the Shapers, though. The Rebels in G3 caused a lot more damage to the people then the Shapers, and in G4...hell, the Rebels are going to kill everyone.

If you're a newcomer, I'd recommend starting with 3. It leads directly into 4, has better gameplay then the first two (especially the inventory window), and, if you start with it, the plot still seems new and different.
