  1. Are the forums working again? Testing, testing... Anyway.

That's right, I decided to take a little break from my juggernaut of a scenario and churn out something smaller. Lo and behold! That scenario became Quarhag Pass!

I have some small tidbits of info on my site plus the download links, of course. Link here:

The scenario is pretty small so I doubt there are any bugs. Now a word about the Mac version. Thralni was kind enough to convert the graphics for me, but since Windows loves to screw around with the cmg file, you might have to convert the graphics yourself.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my fruits of labor. I certainly had fun designing it.

  2. Awesome, Jewelz. I did mean to send it to you. It was on my do-to list, but I suppose it works this way too.

The Shadow Vale Database seems to be woefully out of date. Is it even supported any more? Should I bother sending an updated scenario to Tyran? I say nay. All in all, a pretty effortless update process on my part.

  3. Ah, yes. Another player emailed me about this in September. It's a bug. You were supposed to get the "dumbfounded" status. My website (there's a link in my signature) has a new version where I've fixed this. I probably should have made sure that at least Jewels' and Tyran's sites got the updated versions, but I kind of forgot. Of course, you probably got the scenario from Spiderweb's scenarios page, and I really don't want to send an update there.

Ah, so seeing my naked body will hurt my scenario's score. Huh. Live and learn.

And what I meant to say, of course, was that the top three scenarios truly deserved their positions. Yay! Let's see if I can slap together something with a more reasonable chance to compete for Best Scenario by next year.
  5. Now lessee...

Right now I'm rereading A Song of Ice and Fire. Right now I'm in A Storm of Swords. In the last few months I've read at least:

The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie (which was an okay first book of yet another fantasy trilogy with good characters and dark humor, but a weakish overall plot.)

Domes of Fire by David Eddings (because I hadn't read anything by Eddings before. I was not impressed)

A Crown of Swords by Robert Jordan (I'm pleased to report that absolutely nothing happened in it!)

Making Money by Terry Pratchett (It was okay, I guess.)

I also might have finished rere(possibly-re)reading the Prince of Nothing trilogy by R Scott Bakker (Things still didn't turn out well for Drusas or Cnaiur.)

That about covers what I've been reading (excluding school-related reading) since December.

They are? Man, then I know I'm dumb (can't vouch for Redstart, though). How do you install the scenarios? I've got a bunch of them in the "BLADSCEN" folder like the Valley of Dying Things and one in its own folder. Then I have one in the main game folder, one in the "BLSCENED" folder and OBoE still claims that there are no scenarios installed when I press the Custom Scenario button.
  7. I am making yet another one. This one should keep me busy for a year or two or if I continue to invest as much time into making it as I am now, for all eternity.

It's set in (mostly) one huge city with no outdoors and I hope it to have a better plot than my previous works (as in there's more of it) but like in my previous works I will bury the main plot under a hundred side quests.
