I cannot find a single thing wrong with it. I've looked it over several times, and am beginning to get annoyed. Unfortunitaly this portal is at an important part of the scenario. Can anyone spot anything wrong? It says that I have an improper command, but I see no syntax errors.

  2. LOL, amazing how much people can continue on from one post. While I realize I should have read the post from corrigere more closely, and then would have never thought he was insulting newbies, and I know the well known fact that most newbie scenarios are never released, Roses of Reckoning still sucked, and I cannot hold respect for someone who would disgrace BOA so. 20+ good scenarios does not make up for one that disgraces the name. If it had been just a bad scenario, then yes they would. No need to continue, you all have way too large a stick up your a** anyway.

Edit: Oh, and Ephesos, I would suggest making a few scenarios with about 1-5 towns, even if you never release them, before you try something on a larger scale

  3. I don't know if anyone already knew this (which most likely some if not most of you already did) however I once ran into the problem of how to change PC graphics (Player Character, not PC the computer type) and have it continue from one computer to the next. Well I ran upon the awnser accidently, and found it quite simple. In order to make a scenario that has PC graphics customized to your liking, in your CMG file for the scenario, simply make the resource number for the graphic you want, to replace one of the old Character Graphic resources. Doing this, not only solves the problem of continuing it on other computers, but also that you will be able to post your scenario on SW without having to worry that it will never show up because you asked someone to change a graphic file that is "Untouchable".

  4. Dear Corrigere, Experienced editors are nothing more then long time newbies. If you had not created Roses of Reckoning I might believe you when you suggest that you have any "worthwhile" experience in this category. I am a newbie, and I have a scenario close to being done that (while I am not bragging, and this is completely a matter of opinion) will blow Roses of Reckoning out of the water. Why? It's called choice, reason, and logic. All of which were sadly lacking in your scenario. I on the other hand have not played any of your other scenario's, therefore cannot say whether or not you actually have quality work, however to degrade newbies, is obviously extremely self-righteous of you.

  5. You have to keep in mind that you are looking from an eagles eye view to the southeast, if you were to make a "J" curve and bring the particular area's entry from the southeast then you would most likely end up with a much better looking area

Edit: Of course you would have to have the walls at the east wall lower then the rest, which is the root of the problem anyways

  6. What does everyone think about scenarios that are based upon the idea that another part of the storyline will be built afterwards (beside the fact that some editors crap out and never finish them)? Would you rather have a scenario that ends, and then is never continued, or one that is a constant storyline that ends after a couple (or three) scenarios?

  7. You make a persuasive argument, but I think I will still keep it as a side project. While it main drain some creativity, the entire basis of "Blades of Avernum" is the Avernum part. If someone has no creativity to start, then obviously they would be unable to make something good out of it. However when you have a landscape, and free reign beyond it, anyone who is actually skilled should be able to make something creative with minimal difficulty. I will continue this project when I feel tired of doing my actual scenario, and eventually, I will finish. I have pretty good determination, and as I said before, I realize that at BEST it will be tedious.

  8. I have decided to recreate Avernum. While I realize that this will be a tedious and slow task at best, I think it will be worthwhile. I am going to recreate it to an EXACT replica of Avernum 2. I plan on doing all the terrain, (no scripting or creatures or whatnot yet) and then distributing it for people to work with. I think that Avernum was an excellent setting, and would probably be appreciated (though not as much as I might hope) by all of you. If anyone would like to help (instead of telling me that it will eventually just sit on my desktop as you all seem fond of doing) then please, load avernum 2, go to the vahnatai lands, and make some exact replicas of the areas around and up to (insert name after tunnel here) I forgot the name, but the first vahnatai town you step into, (past the tunnel/river system). Anyone who feels they need to say something derogitory to my goal, please refrain from being a jerk.
