1. I also enjoyed playing through A5. Of course I have pretty much enjoyed all of Jeff's games (except Geneforge's 2-5, and Nethergate: Resurrection only because I haven't played them yet!). You'll hear a few remarks about storylines and graphics or what-not, but overall I believe that all of Jeff's games are worth playing.

  3. Really makes hoarding stuff easy huh? I like to hoard stuff on these games. It's hard early on when you really need the cash, but if you persevere, you'll end up with a nice haul!

Won't work...I've only had this computer for a few months. The stuff I'm looking for is years old.

I do not have the patience for that. Thanks anyways.

So even if I had my old computer and did what Tdl said, it still wouldn't have worked!

I guess I'll just have to make due with what posts I've got. Thank you all for your help.

  5. I'm trying to make a list of my posts here on the Spiderweb Forums. I know that it sounds stupid but it's something that I'm doing. I'm missing a lot from 2004 and earlier and a fair few from 2008 through early 2010. I mainly started keeping the list on August 24, 2010 with my 417th post. I just grew from there. I've already checked the pied-piper site and found around 70 posts.

My main question is, Is there another site that may have the posts I'm looking for?

  6. A man is stuck inside a metal room. The door was locked and there wasn't a handle. There are also no winsows. The following items were inside the room:

    piano, table, saw,and bat.

There are 3 ways he could've got out, do you know?

First, he played the piano until he found the right key.

Second, he sawed the table in half then held the two pieces together. Two halves make a whole.(hole)

Third, he swung the bat three times. Three strikes, he's out!

    Your so poor...

I walked in your front door and fell out the back.

I walked in your house and stepped on a roach and got yelled at for killing the family pet.

I walked in your house and stepped on a lit cigarette and your dad asked who turned off the heat.

    You can't even pay attention.

Starving people in third world countries are sending you money and food.

That she got mistaken for a taxi because of her yellow suit.

She jumped in the air and got stuck.

She sat on a rainbow and made Skittles.

    She uses a hula-hoop as a belt.

  7. A few scenes from Monty Python's The Holy Grail.

    1. "Are you suggesting that coconuts migrate?"

    2. "Who's castle is that?"

    3. "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."

    4. "There are some who call me...Tim?."

Let's see if you can guess what movies these other quotes from scenes came from.

["The kid's a punk, he don't even speak good English!"

"He doesn't even speak good English "]

["Do you see the tourists with their video cameras, hoping the cops will shoot you so they can sell the tape to Goriest Police Shoot-outs?"]

["I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."]

    Phone Booth

    12 Angry Men (1997)

And many others I don't have time to mention.

  9. Tomorrow we observe the 10th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. It's kind of hard to believe that it's been 10 years. So much has happened.

I remember that day vividly. I was six months in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, VA on my last days there before I took a plane to Groton, CT.

I was on barracks cleaning detail and I was outside smoking a cigarrete. All of the sudden the First Sergeant (I can't remember his name) came out and told me and two other guys smoking to come in to the REC room. When I asked him why he told me that a plane had just hit one of the World Trade Center towers. I and the two other guys went to the room and found it packed with other guys watching the news.

We were watching and discussing what we were seeing. I was about to leave the room and use the payphones outside the door (to call my parents to see if they were watching the news) when one of the guys hollered out "Is that another plane?". I turned back towards the TV in time to see the plane make its final turn into the other tower and hit it. That's when pandemonium hit the room big time. Earlier we were discussing accidents of planes hitting buildings, but what we (and everyone else watching) saw was a deliberate turning to hit the tower. Now we were discussing terrorism. Oddly enough, the first name to pop up was Osama Bin Laden. He had killed 17 sailors on the USS Cole not even a year earlier.

I then made my call to my parents. They had been watching the news and saw everything that I did. I told them that I loved them and that I would talk to them later. When I got back in the room, the newscasters were just then talking about another plane hitting the Pentagon. A few of us started discussing other possible targets that the planes might hit. They seemed to hit tall buildings and important military centers. We mentioned places like the White House, Sears Tower, Statue of Liberty, the San Francisco Bridge, and a few others. Luckily, none of those or any other buildings were hit. Later, they mentioned another plane that the passengers struggled with the hijackers. The plane crashed somewhere in southern PA.

I (like many other people) was glued to the TV for the next few days.

Sorry, I had no idea. My dad used to watch the show with that guy on it back in the 80's on PBS (public TV) and he taped quite a few of them so I got to see them on a semi-regular basis.

  11. I always liked the newer way of storage. In the three Exiles, you had specified places to store your stuff and absolutely no where else. It made dungeon cleaning hectic trying to load up as much barterable stuff as you could carry and sell it to the closest seller.

Now you can come and go as you please. The stuff doesn't go anywhere. You can take what you want to take and maybe get the rest of it later if you feel like it. It was more realistic. Unless you just drop your stuff all over town, that's not too realistic that your stuff just sits in the middle of town and no one touches it, but you get my point.

Well, Lilith the screen sort of shifts. Part of the left side of the screen ends up on the right side. For example: the screen how it looks now is like a row of numbers; 123456789. The screen when it shifts looks like this; 456789123. It's hard for me to explain but that's about the best that I can do.

Sorry about that Slarty. Having never had a problem before with the games until I got my new laptop I missed discussing the main detail. My computer is a Compaq Presario CQ57-229WM Notebook. The operating system is Windows 7. It uses AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics.

I hope that this answers your question.

I have thought of that and tried it out. It kept messing up.

    *UPDATE*

I didn't try this until earlier this afternoon, but I started messing around with the compatability options from the properties menu. I've got it set to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and to run in 640 x 480 resolution. I played through once for about three hours without incident. I'll let y'all know if it doesn't work out. Thank y'all for your help on this little problem of mine.

  13. I reinstalled Nethergate onto my laptop. The first few times I played it and everything was fine. Now the screen messes up and the only way that I can fix it is by rebooting. Please tell me that there's a fix for this (besides buying Nethergate:Resurrection, which I hope to do anyway within a few months).

I'm playing through A1 again. She teaches the Dispel Barrier spell in A1 if you bring her the Slith Tome from the the Slith City that's to the northwest and surrounded by swamp.

If I had to guess, I believe that she teaches it again in A2.

  15. For years while in school I was bullied and made fun of. My family was dirt poor and I was (and still am) ugly. When I was in school I was smaller than the other boys and they would gang up on me. While at school, I was 5'6" and 155 lbs. Now I'm 5'11" and 215 lbs. I'm not as easily pushed around as before. I don't like bullies and would never do that to someone else. But if someone gets in my face and wants a fight, I'll make sure they pay.
