I've cleaned out the pit--whew!--but there is an inaccessible room just before you go into the large room where the drake is, and its protected by some kind of rune or something. How do I get in?

I'm downstairs on the northeast end of the aerie but the gate is shut and the room with the wheel to open it is locked and not amenable to lockpicking. I need the key apparently, which I don't have

I have been unable to find Incarnus despite all the publicity he has gotten. I've been through the aerie and haven't ruin into him. Any hints out there?

Just to get back on the original topic, am I going to have trouble learning a new game engine, or is it similar enough to Avernum so that I will be able to just start playing?

Is the estimate time of arrival still late February?

As much as I loved A6, I do agree that the Scourge fights were pretty tepid. Nothing compared to the dreaded liches.

Yes I see that now. I'm getting used to this teeny keyboard--as you can see from the mis-spell on the title of this thread I was having problems.

Tyranicus and Master1, you have both been very helpful. As you can imagine, I lost a lot of game because I thought I was saving with the F3 and indeed I was not.

I hadn't even noticed the "fn" key. And I've been using Apple computers for almost 20 years. It works fine now.

I installed this nifty wireless keyboard yesterday and I can't save from F3 anymore. I'm running OS 10.5.8 on a Mac-Mini. The rest of the keyboard prompts are OK. I went into keyboard preferences and changed the default preference for F3, which relates to Expose, to no preference at all. Still a problem.

My previous keyboard was an old Macally with I-Mac colors. I had no problem with it. I do have Quicken but I disabled the auto entry quite some time ago.

I have found the "U" button very helpful in this game since it reveals any items that you can use: pressing it in the spider's lair will cause a letter of the alphabet to appear where the eggs are.

I found the end game somewhat disjointed. What are the pluses and minuses of finishing off the Vahnati? That's about all I have left except dealing with Melanchion. A bit of a fizzle out since starting with E1 about 16 years ago.

I'm having some trouble here figuring out what makes this guy vulnerable. Any suggestions out there?

I've also noticed that the AI that controls my party's summoned monsters is not always on target since sometimes they just hang around and watch. It must be quite a difficult programming job.

Yeah and why can the enemy conjure up all kinds of monsters but our side can only have two?

I've cleaned out the fortress but I still can't find the proof that the commander in Saffron wants that there are indeed still Darkside Loyalists.

Seems like the old Exile games, where the dungeons would get reset whenever one left. And seems like there should be some sort of warning in this one, since the other dungeons in Avernum 6 don't reset when you leave and come back.

I've been going underground, killing a few loyalists, going back to Spire for a nap, and then going back and killing a few more. Everytime I come back it seems like the dungeon has been reset--the encounter has the same text box about how everyone has seen me and no one is where I left them. So am I actually making progress in getting rid of the DLs? Or am I just pushing the same rock to the top of the hill like Sisyphus.

I killed all of the users, the guards, and the dealer, but at the end I get thrown in jail and the game is over. What am I doing wrong? I thought the mayor told me to do it. Is it that I shouldn't kill the two users who are hanging around in the alcove in the tunnel?

I wish I had found the Gruesome Charm much earlier, with its extra two levels of intelligence. Since it looked like one of those Avernum hunks of meat lying on the floor, I neglected to pick it up and only found it when I came back much later. I assume that Jeff's point is that the very observant get rewarded, while us others stumble around trying to defeat the Unbound ones etc with insufficient energy.

There's a building there that I can't get into. It needs some kind of stones to fit into something to open the door.

Who gives me the quest to get in there?

This problem with Quicken appears to have happened to me with Geneforge 5 when I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard . How do I disable Quicken Scheduler? I went into the Activity Monitor application and couldn't see that anything called Quicken Scheduler was running.

I did his quest of cleaning out the area south of Mera of the roamers but now I cannot seem to locate him to get my reward.

Yes I am always looking for the one square-wide hallway but I must have missed this one up there.
