  1. I haven't re-played it for more than a couple of times. It's irritating to be reminded of how bad the Exile/Avernum games (my favourites) are when compared to Nethergate. Well, not bad, but at least not as good.
  2. Hmm. I think the more likely answer is: "We've never SEEN everything going black after killing the party and something transporting us and them back to the past and having the party battle against us over and over again until they finally win unfairly with the help of the editor." That's how I picture hell, by the way. Save the Exile graphics.
  3. Yes yes, but the Anamas would still prevail. Sure, they would probably all get killed and so, but in heaven they would earn their reward and be made lords over everything and so on. Such are the rewards of those who die for their fate. EDIT: And on Judgement Day, their god would step down and kick the ass of demons, dragons and horses alike. So there.
  4. Pfft. I'd say the chances are quite big for soldiers dying "very angry, very upset, or otherwise emotionally engaged". Ever heard of haunted battlefields? They're the frickin' playgrounds for all sorts of transparent lifeforms! Ha. I win. EDIT: Touche! 1-0 to me! In your face! Booyah! Go me! Go me!
  5. The Anama would win. In God they trust. Or alternatively the undead. You can't overestimate the fear of the enemy, when they encounter someone using his teeth as a weapon. Also, when all the others have slaughtered each other, everyone becomes undead. It's the perfect non-violent strategy! They're like Gandhi, though a lot paler!
  6. I prefered the Romans. You can't identify yourself with seksi spike-haired barbarians who use bodypaint. If you can, please contact a doctor. You can, however, identify yourself with dull people. People who are just trying to do their work. People who haven't got a clue what they're up against. People who would rather just go home and live a peaceful life with their family. And that's how I see my special force consisting of four Roman soldiers.
  7. GF is absolutely better when it comes to the plot, but I'd still say GF 2 is generally better. TGM, I think Geneforge had just the right amount of people to speak to. You spend most time wondering about what the heck it is all about, true, but every once in a while you meet someone who reveals a bit more. Then, little by little you start to understand the puzzle. Brilliant, IMO. But then again, I am a fanatic friend of the "castaway-all-alone-on-old-and-mystical-deserted-island" genre. Anyway, GF 2's plot became obvious far too soon.
  8. Somehow I symphatize with the Romans. Probably because of the burning alive thing (bless you, Lord Summerisle). Anyway, the Celts are more interesting to play with since they get along significantly better with the powers of the Sidhe than the Romans. More mysteries, magic and mythology. And a spell is always better than a sword. At least it looks cooler. Romans...weak in the beginning but later on very strong. In combat, take out the druids first and watch the so called "warriors" flee the field. Also, you get to fight the Sidhe, a very rewarding thing if you've had enough of elves, goblins and the rest of the critters. See how superior and better they think they are when they're bleeding at the end of your spear. Brutal but satisfying. Or just brutal.
  9. You're really into this virtual-pet thing... I sometimes name my creations. But only fancy names with "von" and "af", mind you. TGM once told me that his clawbug was named...Edvard? Edmund? I can't quite remember. Anyway, that's about the coolest name you can give to a clawbug. No, seriously.
  10. Not a bad idea! Although, it would probably end up being just a copy of Nethergate, with the invaders and the magic-worshipping folk. But still, not a bad idea.
  11. Nethergate II: no. I still think Jeff could concentrate a bit more on games in the spirit of Nethergate. The old fantasy-dragon-sword genre gets a little boring from time to time. Geneforge is quite good, but still nothing compared to Nethergate. More "realistic" RPg, please! Perhaps SW could be inspired by some other old culture (as the Romans and Celts in Nethergate)?
