  1. The new features are awesome. I appreciate the "Set skill points to..." slider a lot. Unfortunately, the HP, Essence and Duplicate functions do not seem to work for my existing characters. I went back and made a new character (I'd been meaning to try a Sorceress anyway...) and they work fine for her. I am not sure what the difference is, exactly. The functions work fine on new characters, and on one save I made while still in the 1st area. On every other save, they don't seem to work. Taking the existing characters back to the Pacification Fields doesn't help, so I suspect it is not zone-based. The only thing I can think of is that I have used quick-saves on all the other games except for that first normal save back in the first zone...
  2. This is pretty cool, but I wish it'd reset your skill points back to zero when you turn off the Skill Boost mode. I like cheating a little (Hmm, few points of luck here, maybe a boost to STR so I don't have to raise it while playing to wear stuff...) but not cheating a lot.
  3. I second the "creature schematic" loading screens. Those are great, and there should be more of them. (although the Rotgroth one actually grosses me out a little from time to time... bleh) Since I keep managing to find a way to get like 9 points in Create Fyora and such, I think it'd be cool to have a third tier. Make them yellow and have them breathe a weak version of Kyshakk lightning. Electora? Hmm... sounds like some kind of election-based thing, but it could work... I actually like the "rebel" character classes a lot. More variety is always welcome in my book. If GF5 is Shaper-centric, an option to just pick a male or female type sprite for your character would be interesting. Useless, but interesting. Finally, you should be able to talk to your creations. Intelligent creations should have huge, elaborate dialogue trees and fanciful sidequests, along the lines of the ones in Planescape:Torment. *nod* Ooh, ooh, and voicework, too. Fyora: Rar. Vlish: <eerie unintelligible whisper> Thahd: Dur, me smash! Drayk: a variety of sarcastic comments. Rotgroth: things about brains, specifically how he'd like to eat some. Drakon: Thinly veiled threats. Yeah, I know... whoever said dreaming only hurts a little was right, though.
  4. <vague ramblings> I think we need to add lightning damage to the game. We've got fire and ice already, yes? I guess there's the generic "energy" damage, but that comes off more as, well, generic, not as electric. With the addition of this new and exciting elemental force comes a third level of creations, that, uh, are either somehow more metallic or shoot lightning from their various energy-emitting orifices. The, uh, Zapora (okay, it's lame, but not as lame as Litora or Electora, the latter of which sounds like something involved in an election process) would be yellow. And shoot lightning bolts. And maybe have one or two more AP than a Fyora, because of the whole quickness association with lightning. Quicksilver Artilas, Copper-laced Thahds, etc. Ooh, and if someone mastered the art of creating the elemental creatures, they could move on to the highly-forbidden final level of creation, which might be Prism or Star or, um, Tera. These pan-elemental creatures utilize combined forces and do semi-generic damage that is less resistable. They also shimmer, and freshen up the room for you without being oppresively floral. Get rid of that vinegary just-shaped smell. Also, give the poor Agent a new graphic, for the love of pete. I was thinking, "Hey! New stuff! Cool!" and then looked and saw the Agent has the same, dumpy-looking graphic as before and became just a bit sadder than I started as. Nice touch on the vaguely Harry Potter-esque stripes on the Shaper robes, though. </vague ramblings>
