Tenderfoot Thahd (2/17)

  1. Combat system is ace, as is the regen health and the automatic revival. Really the only thing I would ask for in a sequel is ditching the "new zones come from quests" model, because restricting where we can explore to what mission we've been given really makes me feel like a lackey.
  2. Well so far I actually enjoy the preconstructed characters, mostly for the great party talk. I don't mind the auto-heal now that combat is an actual challenge. On the other hand, my biggest peeve doesn't seem likely to go away: not being able to discover other regions until they're given to you by quest-givers. Seems like it cuts down on spontaneous exploration a lot.
  3. Can anyone who was in beta/has greater knowledge give a rough estimate of how many areas are in the game? The desert area only has the town of Goldcrag on the map, and it would be a leeeetle disappointing if out of an entire country only one small town was actually represented in game.
  4. Having just gotten through the Wretch mines, I definitely don't mind the auto-heal as much as I did before. Its more that that first dungeon with the rats and spiders was so pathetic.
  5. Love how absolutely huge this game seems, but yeah, Geneforge style entry-selection is sorely desired. Anyone know if it opens up a bit more later though? If I'm only able to access sections of the world map when I'm on a specific quest to them, that seems kind of lame.
  6. Waaaay to easy. I mean, I don't expect the first dungeon to be challenging, but when I resurrect instantly after battle and recover full health within twenty seconds on Hard there is no sense of challenge at all. Each specific encounter may be tough, but the overall progression lacks danger. Other then that, fantastic atmosphere, great opening theme, great world so far.
