Tenderfoot Thahd peko
Sulfras says the key needed to free her is nearby, I only found one key (malachite) nearby and I still can't free her. Is there something else I need to do first or what?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
The key you want is in Sulfras's Lair, but I don't remember what it's called. You need to talk Sulfras into promising you the Onyx Scepter before you free her. —Alorael, who can't remember if the option to unlock comes up when you approach her or if you have to produce it through dialogue with Sulfras. Tenderfoot Thahd peko
I already taled her into giving me the scepter if I free her, tried all the dialogue options. Also no option to free her when I come near. I only found one key there, are there more than one key in Sulfras lair?
Ineffable Wingbolt Rent-an-Ihrno
Is the key you found the one hidden in the barracks?
Tenderfoot Thahd peko
It was in crystal box in a secret room behind a magic barrier. Edit: In the barracks yeah.
Ineffable Wingbolt Rent-an-Ihrno
If you got Sulfras to promise you the Onyx Scepter, the key from the building to the south should work (use Far Sight just in case, don't remember that well). Maybe you're attempting the whole thing wrongly? Try talking to Sulfras again and see if freeing him is a dialogue option, or walk up to him resp the place where his chains are stuck to the ground etc. Edit: Grammar. Tenderfoot Thahd peko
Walking up to a spot north of her worked. The thought that I should take a stroll around the dragon never occured to me.
Ineffable Wingbolt Rent-an-Ihrno
That often helps. In Exile, spots you needed to step on to do something special or make something special happen were marked with a white dot, in Avernum you simply have to rely on intuition and logic (or, of course, OCD). Tenderfoot Thahd peko
Upon further testing (reloading) I find that any spot at least in front of Sulfras will work but that was not the case until I had quit and restarted the game. Can't say I remember that from Exile but it has been quite a few years since I played those.
