  1. If your talking about npcs' then it shouldn't really change them. I did this on the older games when I was editing the script. As long as your only changing the base template stats, it only affects you character.

Unless your talking about people just going wild with the changes. Then watchout 😛

  2. Does anyone know where the save game locations for A:Eftp and A:CS are, I've looked in several places and deleted the entire saved games folders in Documents. However, the saves are still there when I load the game and they still load, further more. Once I close the game, the saved games folder is back in place in my documents with the saves there again.

I have both games through Steam.

    I am running Windows 10 64-bit.

  3. I'm having trouble understanding this and I don't want to start up an old topic (usually intensively frowned upon) so I'm starting a new topic.

Is there a way to run exile games on the windows 10 without installing another version of windows?

  4. I should re-word this a bit, my fault.

If I make a custom class, will it still level the stats the same way for example.

If I make a berserker, then I make a custom class. Will i.e. str, end, etc. still increase in their respective places?

Or is it the same for all party members no matter what in that they all get the same stat increases?

Does what I put points into skills affect what stat is increased with each level?

  5. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix this,

I'm trying to run Geneforge 1-3 on Windows 8, but I am unable to bring my resolution to 800x600. The game also isn't able to do it automatically. I've already checked my resolution options and it doesn't go that low.

So is there a way to play them with a higher resolution?

I'm trying to run the geneforge series I bought from steam.

    Windows 8 Pro

    Nvidia GTX 550Ti

  6. I entirely agree with your sense that it's a different kind of game than Jeff usually makes. So does Jeff, really; he said somewhere (maybe somebody else will bother to track it down) that he made it different partly because he wanted to tell a different type of story. The relatively straightforward heroic fantasy of Avernum 1 lends itself to a general exploratory approach, but the dark fantasy that he was trying to capture in Avadon really requires a more plot-heavy (and therefore more linear) approach.

He could've done Geneforge-style factions, I suppose, but it wouldn't have worked terribly well with the plot that he had. He'd have had to change the plot at least some in order to make it play out properly, and I think he wanted to get the game out faster and tell the story that he was trying to tell.

Besides, I don't really like factions, because I rarely play the games more than once, so I feel like I'm missing out when I know there are other paths.

It seems as though he's taking his sweet time with Avadon 2, which I'm hoping means that we're in for something really good, one way or another.

I think I remember him putting that up somewhere a long time ago. Well, it feels like a long time ago to me anyways. I still think it would be nice if it was a little less linear, but I still think the story was ok. Hopefully looking for something more in Avadon 2.

  7. I start Geneforge 2 and go into the game, but whenever I start a game the graphics where items and tables etc. are supposed to be, there are just green grass colored squares.

I have it set for the game to always change resolution.

    q8400 quad core processor

    nvidia gtx 550 ti 1gb ddr5

    4 gb ram

(let me know any additional information you need.)

Geneforge 1 and 3-5 all work fine.

    Things I have tried:

Downloading a fresh copy of G2 from HTTP Download in the download section and installing over the game to see if it changes anything.

  8. I'm not sure about this game. I thought the story was alright, but the game felt really linear. Unless I missed some sort of faction thing going on it, felt like that your forced into one conclusion with (slightly varying endings?). Didn't have the same feel as Avernum Series or Geneforge Series. Loved both those series. I felt like it differed too much from normal spiderweb design. I would like to see more development of it.

What did everyone else think about this?

  9. I still play Blades of Avernum, sometimes it's just fun to go back and see the old stuff. Relive what you have forgotten and try new things.

Sometimes we believe that were over a game, but years later we can look back on it and get the urge to play that game again.

(I still think about pacman sometimes) :D
