Now I feel stupid! I was so fixated on the chasm part of the clue. I have found the scroll now.

I am trying to recover khoths scroll but am having trouble. I think I may have messed up as I went to the chasm earlier in the game and killed the bad guys by the door. Now when I go across the chasm nothing happens and I don't seem to have the scroll. Am I going to the right place? I am west of the ruined fort on the middle north south running path. The westernmost path has the area with the sign about the last hiding place of the Vahnatai race but I can't get through the second row of barriers even with L3 dispell barrier so I am guessing that is not the place? Is there any other way to get the key to getting past khoths wards?

I am another noob and was at the same point last week. I did parts of of a lot of areas to get past this point. I think I was around L10 when I started doing parts of the Aranea cave and spiral pit as well as the upstairs bit of the first Kyass quest. I had to try and lure out my opponents by going just into the room and then running away. Then I would leave my 3 strongest to fight while my weakest (my sorceress at that level) ran away as far as it could until the others died then I would bolt for the closet town and restore them and come back and do it all again. It is a bit time consuming but it was a good way to get more money to pay for my mage and sorcerers training. I havent played any sort of game for about 10 years so am new to everything. I recently got an ipad for work and bought Avadon, now I am hooked!
