Ok, I just assumed that areas were dark since you get light sources in this game. Why have light sources if you can see as clear as daylight everywhere?

Hey there. Just bought the game off steam, and have a question. I've entered the first dungeon, but it isn't dark down there at all. Is this a bug or is it supposed to be like this?
