Hi,
I am currently playing the demo and enjoying it, I've reached Fort Remote and I guess it's time to register. Apparently there is also a Hint Book for sale. So, question: is it any good? OK, that was stupid, I'll elaborate.
I've purchased a few hint books over the years. Some were "real" books, like the ones for Star Wars Galaxies or Fallout 3. Very thick, with all maps, every quest, the location of every item, strategies, etc., every spoiler one may think of. One problem though, no search feature in a hardcopy.
Then I bought a digital one for Warhammer Online. It was total cr@p. Oh, it had a lot of info, but it was DRMed and the only way to view it was through their proprietary pdf viewer, which was less user-friendly and had less features than Adobe Reader 1 . Even the search feature was so slow that it would have been faster to go to the ToC at the end of a hardcopy book to find the info I needed.
Now, how is the hint book for Avernum 6. Does it have more info than the stickies in this forum (which, to my limited knowledge, have like everything)? Does it have printable maps I could annotate? Is it a normal pdf or will I have to suffer with a subpar pdf reader?
(And does it have a cheat code to respec my party? Apparently I can only *raise* values in the party editor, and I grew attached to my default guys nor do I want to waste all these hours I've spent playing the demo )
Thanks!
