Just wanted to post my appreciation for Spiderweb's great work. Avernum 6 was a pleasure to play and given the comparative spartan nature of the game technology I am amazed at just how much character the gameworld has. The quality of the writing really makes it shine. I appreciated the interface and game balance improvements from Avernum 5 to 6. On reflection I get just as much enjoyment out of one of Jeff's games as I do from those multi-million dollar goliaths like Bioshock. Having a good chuckle at the humor sprinkled throughout makes it so much more enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the wine sipping demon that found being used as target practice by X a decent vacation from the infernal equivalent of office politics. And speaking of X glad that he finally perfected that anvil spell (another amusing dialog). So is X showing up in the next Spiderweb game given he stepped through the demons portal to some other mysterious world? My only regret is I have to wait around for the new series to be released (and yes I have played GeneForge).
