Oh. I probably attempted to back them up and cut them instead of copying them. It was two years ago now. But that's OK, I am running Avernum Remix 1.1 and a new game is exciting now that I can have a solid ranged character!

This is odd, I have not played for over a year and all my saved games disappeared and the game became unregistered. The saved game folder has folders for saved game but they are empty.

I doubt my saved games are to be found, but I want to prevent this in the future because I am going to play again over the Summer. Does anyone know what may of went wrong?

I did not take the time to write everything out because my first thought it is something that I have missed. Well, it turns out it was simple: "Frozen Blade"; based on INT not STR! lol

I have two melee characters with almost identical builds when suddenly (after a few days of not playing so the memory is foggy) the second character's hit chance on certain monsters is only 34% while the other character is 95%.

What's going on?

The character in question only has -5% to hit on gear and is not cursed.

I once woke up with my cloths inside out after a long night of copious drinking.

I had relations with a Jehovah's Witness. -eek-

In high school I was 'caught' w/my GF in the back of my jeep when parked at the student parking lot.

I could go on, but meh, nothing is as glamorous as I want to make it appear to be.

I was thinking the other day how Avernum compares to other games I played in terms of immersion and general fun. Although I refuse to rank my favorites, Spiderwebgames would rank rather high. =) I just wanted to share.

Luck always sounds so awesome.

Long ago in Exile III there was a blessed necklace found near a bunch of magic immune bugs and I remember every once in a while when combat began a message would come in the log to the effect of "You feel lucky" (or blessed, can't remember as it was 10 years a go) That really made the game memorable.

What does luck really do? Chance to evade a killing blow? Chance for crits? etc...

To me XP looks almost randomly rolled throughout the character from set amount provided by the monster kill. Any clarification on this for me would rock.

I am currently playing on hard as I don't have the time/patience for torment currently.

If we had five character I would go with a dedicated archer; however, having two tanks helps protect the spell casters - something I find useful. (and still fun)

Is there a character editor or codes to fix misplaced skill and/or trait points?

If I recall correctly I think I saw a few posts stating archers do not scale well into late game.

If I make a pure archer (with locking picking) would I be OK or will the character feel gimped?

Yes, Diablo 3 will dominate my game playing time. None the less there will be enough time to play Avernum. =)

Right now I am playing pure classes Warrior, Archer, Priest, and Mage (customs) and they are well, a little 2D. Right now my archer is doing pathetic damage and my warrior is doing just OK. (hard difficulty, right outside of demo area)

So, I am thinking about starting over and dropping my pure archer =(. Are there any interesting party builds I can try out to escape vanilla? I've read somewhere somebody does four battle monks, melee and heals. That sounds interesting but the lack of a mage is unappealing.

So far my next attempt is going to be two warrior tanks, a priest, and a mage. (all pure) but that is still rather plain.

Example, Spirit Claw, it states big bonus when at levels 7 / 8. What happens above those levels? Nothing?

Due to finding some PHAT armor spirit claw is at level 10, should I retrain to bring it down to 8?

I think the error was on my part that I needed to turn in the quest to Avadon.

I used the second code and the dialog to turn in the quest came up. =)

Thanks. I killed her for sure but there is no option to turn the quest in with Zhethron or his assistant.

After speaking with Zhethron and being attacked by ogres I was sent to Jhereth Deeps to kill all the ogres. Well I cleared the map topside and below in the caverns after meeting with Zephyrine.

I go back to Zhethron to turn on the quest but I am unable to. There is no option to turn it in. ><

I believe I missed an ogre at the underground part with the rising water. I am unable to get back down there.

Any hints for me would rock the socks!

Hi everybody!

Well, I am at lvl 25 (Shaper biznitch!)w/three cryoas and a battle alpha at moderate levels. So far I am at the ROOM OF DEATH, well for me... My strat with the golems are physical attacks from the creatures while thorny auro is up. It's not melting butter but it works...

right now I am stuck in that dizamm room... it might be time to drop the cryoas. =( they are the first to hit the floor.
