  1. Is it possible to get up the stairs inside of Vesna's place? I see a gate. I see stairs. I don't see a gatewheel, level, secret thing-a-ma-bob... nothin'. Am I missing something? Or did Jeff suck me in again?
  2. ~BAH!~ Nevermind. I should know better than to explore an area at all before I've been to the city first. I got my answer. Sorry to waste space. I'm off to get beaten severely now.
  3. Is there a thread on here that tells me where to look for the Black Horror? I think I've passed it. Heck, I've probably looked right at it. Is it in the arena? If so, how does the gongy-thing work so it'll come out and play? I think I've read about it, but I don't see it in the threads anymore. Any help towards this end is welcome. Thanks!
  4. Hm. Maybe that's the issue then. I vaguely remember having to stand on the platform and all that jazz. I guess that's it. Thanks! I feel better. Evidently I'm one of the people that Jeff puts those "areas-you-can't-get-to" in there for. I spend HOURS trying to figure out how to get to those places... only to be disappointed. A few tissues later, and a couple broken pencils thrown violently at my cat, I pull up my bootstraps and move on.
  5. I'm in my second play-through. For some reason I can't get into the back sections below Shafrir's Tower this time. I'm not sure what I'm missing this time that I got last time... I can't find the way in. The only thing different (other than the party complexion) is that I do not have Gladwell's Geas this time around. But I don't think that's why I can't find the way into those areas... Thanks!
  6. Hm. I did all that stuff, but it didn't change the fact that I couldn't hit any of my people when they were charmed. I found out that area effect spells were working against... myself. But not more traditional/targeted attacks. Bah. Either way, I finished the thing off with area effect spells. So, thanks for the help.
  7. Hm. I haven't figured this out yet. I've read what you've all said, but my particular foray into the pit isn't bearing fruit. What I mean is, I'm unshackling the possessed PC and "parking" in next to the bony nuisances. They can't seem to hit anyone. Likewise, my own characters can't seem to hit my possessed character. I'm playing on Hard, but I tried bumping it up to Torment to see if they hit better. They do not. What am I missing? I also don't understand the concept of unshackling yourself and standing next to a skeleton to get hit. I don't see how that makes sense in an RPG sense. And since the game is rather elevated in terms of its RPG elements, that seems out of line.
  8. Ok. Thanks. I guess not having an archer in my party the first time made me completely ignore them all. Thanks a bunch.
  9. If I am reading everything right (and I can't find Synergy's Item List at the moment for some reason...), the Composite Bow is as good as it gets for archers? That is of course, except for the Ceremonial Bow thing in the Fang Clan Village... I realize that bow rocked. But... I don't have it. Without 'circumventing' game concepts, is the Composite Bow the best available bow? If so, it's kinda weak. That's why I suspect there's a better one, and I just missed it in my first go-round. Thanks.
  10. I had been making energy potions/elixirs in my first game (using standard-default party design) because I was running out of energy constantly. I seem to have less of a problem in my second go-round with a more custom party design. So, your comment about that makes sense. Thanks. Crystals - I'm glad you said that. I've only been selling them, so that confirms that approach. And crafted items with a focus crystal? I haven't found anything worth crafting yet.. but I also haven't really tried. Is there something worth getting crafted?
  11. Would someone point out a resource on here (or create one) that will help me confirm that I am making smart choices as to who makes the best potions (or makes them at all), who makes wands, and who the best person to sell crystals to is? I feel like I read the information already, but promptly forgot it at the time (it wasn't what I was looking for) and I can't find it now as I forage through the posts. Danke
  12. Thanks! I had tried some of the things y'all had described already. Though, I admit, I had never thought about... *gasp* running away! So, I did. To Horace's. It was remarkably easy... first time I tried it worked. Go figure. I just needed the brick over the head. Thanks for providing!
  13. I'm fairly sure I'm missing something simple and will feel silly... but, I've tried about a dozen times, with differing strategies to get past the Watcher Sentinel (not Prime Sentinel) quest... and... I mean, on one hand, it's kind of fun as it's a complete blood bath. But I can't seem to get past 3 rounds defending. I'm not really sure how much longer I need to hold out. The closest I came was receiving the dialogue that the Watcher called off the dogs - as my last party member was dying. So - hit me. What silly thing am I missing?
