  1. Have a look here . Geneforge 3 and Geneforge 4 are mentioned, though a lot lower than I would have expected.

    Excerpts:

    53. Geneforge 3 - This game is great. It's epic and nostalgic. Craving a non Japanese non Diablo RPG fix? This is the goods right here.

    - Mike Kasprzak

    82. Geneforge 4: Rebellion

    It's really cliche, but they don't make RPGs like this anymore in the retail PC gaming world.

    - Brian Clair

  2. Yep. Confirming that it works in Windows XP (SP2) compatibility mode. I didn't however notice any splash screen alignment problems.

    Note: You don't need to go through the control panel to set compatibility options.

    Just right click on the shortcut or exectuable --> Properties --> Compatability --> Tick the "Run this program in compatability for:" box and then select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the box.

  3. I just tried creating new parties in Avernum and Avernum 2.

    The problems don't seem to occur while actually creating the party but in the storytelling part that follows. Give it about 10 seconds and Vista turns the screen white (which symbolizes that the program is not responding.) and stays there.

    I've managed to create some dump files using Task Manager. I'm not sure if they'll be any help. (The reason I want to check if they'll be useful first is because they're 70mb each, but both compressed are 35mb.)

    I am running Vista Ultimate Build 6000 and am running the ATi Catalyst 7.1 display drivers.

    I'm not sure how many within this community would have copies. And remember, Beta 2 and RC1 were released as a public beta (According to the Microsoft Site, there were 2.25 million downloads) and RTM version can be downloaded if you have subscribed to any of the following from Microsoft:

    * TechNet Plus
    * MSDN subscriptions at the Operating Systems, Professional, Enterprise, or Universal level

    Note: I personally have a copy of Beta 2 and RC1 but I haven't installed them.

    There may be people with CTP/Public beta releases still floating around. Also, the RTM version was released to companies last month.
