Must admit, I do not beleive I have ever found the puzzlebox. But after hearing how everyone is mad because they can not find it's purpose, then, perhaps, not finding it and becoming engrossed in the "crusade", is a good thing. Just my two cents as they say...

Been awhile, but I beleive you need to must to beet the game. Besides, I don't recall a single disadvantage myself. JUst some information here, and I beleive the gift here and there... If memory serves.

Perhaps it really was a quest at one point, and it was cut for some strange otherwordly reason? When I played Nethergate for the first time I beleived you had to save Pearlblossom from her curse, but then I could never find anything to follow it up. It could be a way for Mr. Vogel to mess with our minds...

YOU COULD USE AN ANTI-MAGIC FIELD SPELL?!?! I heard Exile had a larger selection of spells, but was told most served no purpose. But if there is an anti-magic spell, then it already sounds great. *I haven't had much of a chance to test Exile yet*

I guess I was just trying to explain some plot? It does seem out of place now... oh well. But yeah that Linda women, I knew she was trouble when I first met her. *cough* Anyway I thought Erika only came down with two other people, then again it has been awhile. I need to check on that.

IF, I recall correctly Lady Erika, X, and Solberg (or Patrick?), get involved in a political war within the Empire's Mage Guild to gain the favor of Hawthorn.

Garazed (sp), and a few others won though and had them banished to Avernum, and since Garazed feared Erika (he should), he got the "sun curse" placed on her?

Also I thought Erika was involved in the battle with Gra-Hoth (sp, again), was it not a large battle with many mages and warriors to rid Avernum of demons, sum 50 years ago?

Not that Lady Erika needs help to defeat demons..

I don't beleive I am to far off, but if I am, it's a truly sad day for me.

I got into this shareware only two years ago and started playing Avernum 1, at first I did not like the games but they grew and I came to love them.

Later I discovered that they are, if you will, "remakes" of the Exile series. My question is, are they different enough to buy, or are there parts to the story that are explained in Exile and not Avernum?

Add: I'm asking about Exile not Avernum.

So this is basically a character editor for Geneforge? In any case I need to play this again, it's been awhile.

A character battle of sorts? I'm not really sure if it would work with a trilogy like Avernum, but I just would like to see out of the few characters with some importance, who would you like the most?

If you don't know who my vote would go for then you don't know me at all, or you can't read. But I'll say it anyway, Erika Redmark, the coolest mage to have ever graced the gaming world. IMO

Gotta love Lorelei, I spent a great deal of time there throughout the game. While I don't like all the crowding I love all the shops and of course Hawke's Mansion. It is hard to smuggle all my skribbane in there though...

I like all of Mr. Vogel's games, but Avernum3 is still my favorite. Perhaps the reason behind that is because it is the first game I played.

They should die, all of them. No one kills Erika and gets away with it.

It was a mistake just to clarify that... On the other hand, I will try to come up with a topic. Of course the best way to do that is play the game again!

As I recall on day 160 (I think) in A3 the Tower of Magi is attacked by demons. Though I don't always enjoyed being rushed, for some one who wants everything done, even a minor quest is a major one. On a side note, is there a speed record for the completion of A3 without any cheating or other help?

No offense or anything, but I have played this game many times. I know where the crystal is, and that is why I created this topic. When you smash the crystal it says he is finally dead. If so, why is he in BoA?

I can't believe this board is not better populated, Geneforge isn't my favorite game but still... Can't we all think about something interesting about this game to talk about?

I have played A3 many many times through, and for the first time I have noticed a vampire in A3 that goes by the name Vahkohs. After going through his tower I killed him, for good. Does this mean the Vahkohs in BoA is the same one that some how survived, or an amazing coincident?

P.S- As I was saying, I have played many times, I just never noticed his name until yesterday on my latest playthrough.

I don't hurt the GIFTS, Erika Redmark, or childeren. Everyone else is free game, though I only really go on killing sprees in Blades. In Blades you can kill, loot, and leave, and upon your return no one knows what you did!

Did not sell well? I hope it was speculation, Jeff's games do not get enough credit the way it is. In fact, I first came to this site by mistake. I am now glad I found it.

That is one of my favorite things about spidweb's games, I'm always learning something new.

I had the same problem in BoA. In the same scenario I could not get my rough opals to stack, I had a pile of 18 and one of like 30.

Great! I knew a game this good could not be dead. I also think I will pick up the game too, might even try the Romans again. LONG LIVE THE NETHERGATE BOARD!
