  1. I beat the game and here were my biggest peeves. 1)all the late game halberds suck. Jade, chaos and smite spear. Steel halberd is superior too all of them I believe if your character has good critical chance which he should. 2)Barrier level 3 spell. Really annoying I never was able to obtain it, currently sitting with a party with 12 arcane lore. Not counting the 2 or 3 arcane lore perks I took and 4 or so ven lore learned. Thats one magical trap lol. Other issues I had are not complaints but minor frustrations. never found cave lore trainer if there was one or move mountains 3. I'm assuming khoths lair is accessible somehow all I have left is to slay him and the dragon in the middle of the map.
  2. It kills the roleplay and immersion factor forcing yourself making a optimal group. Because you'll be skipping out on stuff like cave lore and lock picking. I feel the game was made for normal or hard. Torments more like a challenge mode of like "hey your not supposed to win kind of deal" unless you optimize and cheese your way through battles through daze and aoe spell spamming.
  3. Well I decided to cave in and lower the difficulty. While perhaps I can get through the game by grinding and picking fights in the right places I decided to say screw it. Didn't want to deal with what I feel is a bogus biased rule set that turns the game into korean grinder mmorpg which is more nuisance then fun. Especially remembering how much more fun I had in original avernum because I played on normal difficulty. I'll stick to black gaurds 2 for my tactical gaming cravings and avernum for exploration and fun.
  4. Torment is insanely hard in avernum 2. Once I arrived at the mage tower I don't know if my party can deal with battles with dozens of opponents with resistance piercing attacks. Especially considering my 2 melee fighters are not cutting it because melee has been nerfed in this avernum. Odd choice nerfing melee considering how magic is very powerful in this series. You need a very cookie cutter build consisting mostly of all mages for torment with one tank. Which is dissapointing because I remember avadon 2 there was a lot more viability when it came to the classes on torment difficulty.
  5. a cat bow user for example doesn't need extra hit chance or more health. It'' usually always be 90 chance to hit. A cat missle user can shred enemy to pieces with javeline. As for torment, people forget jeff puts consumables in his games. One pot or spell scroll makes a unwinnable hard fight into ezepeezee even on torment difficulty.
  6. ya but what is that like 1 percent more damage and 15 health. Not a game changer.
  7. I think the races are balanced okay. Thing is you don't need every single trait. A lot of them offer very little to a specified character build. Having +1 endurance or dex add nothing to the entirety of a character. Humans you can see Jeff made for more hybrid character like a paladin a warrior that wants to cast priest spells and be able to tank effeciently or sword mage while the other races are suited for a more specialized role.
