WTF, so i tried deleting all my old saves, and now it will load correctly? I don't understand? Finally a new save will let me load into the dungeon? I don't understand cause it shouldn't be doing anything with other saves when loading the dungeon.

Avernum: escape from the pit seems to run fine loading areas when i load up old saves in it, avadon 2 seems to run fine but i don't want to play it till i finish 1.

Just seems avadon 1 is buggering out when loading areas.

DX demo still crashes trying to load into first dungeon and trying to load out of area in previous saves. So doesn't seem to be a graphics issue.

I'm just suggesting that you follow usual troubleshooting procedure:

try to replicate the problem in as many instances as you can, in this case using OpenGL or DirectX.

I'm sure you can guess the importance of knowing whether it occurs both times or just one.

Well i tried the demo, same issue, where do i get a DX version?

The link i've seen in other posts wants a login and password.

I really have to forego steam achievements and deal with contacting them for another version? I thought all these openGL probs were supposed to be with amd cards, i have an up to date nvidia. I don't even know if it's a graphics problem. Seems to run smooth in game, just when trying to load new maps it auto closes. If so many people have problems why isn't the directx version also available on steam? Avadon 2 seems to run smooth.

This error pops up in event viewer every time it just closes automatically if it helps.

So, i don't know what is causing this, I have played the game before with no problems never beat 1 and decided to start over since 2 came out. I have a GTX 660 Ti, running Windows 7 64 bit. The game constantly crashes at the end of the loading screen when trying to enter the first dungeon after picking one of the hands. It also crashes if i try to save the setting when trying to change them from the main menu. Seems to run smoothly otherwise. There is no crash reporter popping it, they game just closes.

I just drag items to trade to their portrait then click on it. Works just fine.

Ok, I seem to have gotten it working. Had to update nvidia drivers from 260 to the 280 one.

Yeah, all resolutions and graphics settings don't work. Can't see main menu at all.

Can't seem to play as the main menu doesn't come up, just shows particle effects as I move the mouse around. Loved the exile games way back when and was so happy to find out this company is still making games and that there is a remake of exile coming soon. Very sad I can't seem to play the game I just bought though.

Had settings at fullscreen, 1920x1080, and all graphics shown.
