Thank you.  I finally figured it out.

I've decided to side with the Owen, they give me the quest to destroy the gates at Thabhlen Pass, but I can't figure out how to actually attack the pass at all.  I've talked to my General, the fort nearby, I think the people in my home fort, I'm at a loss.  Any help?

Hey all, I just downloaded both the avernum 6 demo and the exile 3 demo, wanting to try out these games again after a long hiatus, only to discover that the sound simply does not work for any of these games! I'm running it in compatibility mode (i've tried both win98 and xp sp2 compatibility) on windows 7 32 bit.
