Was Kano supposed to talk to me or something? Because as soon as I was within range of him, it went into combat and there wasn't any dialogue. Is there any way to respawn Kano or reset this quest in any way, or am I out of luck on this playthrough?

As I said, I reached Redbeard at the deepest level of the cells. In order to get to him I had to pass by Kano. I killed him already.

I know that you can't find Tarkus down in the cells, but reading on the forums a person said that if you reach Redbeard at the bottom, you could return to the hand who gave you the quest and turn it in. I can't. I've thoroughly searched everything down there and she just says the same stuff when I go to her to turn the quest in. Was the person wrong when they said that you can turn it in after talking to Redbeard down there, or have I encountered a bug which prevents me from completing this quest?

I've seen more praise for Jeff's writing than criticism. For me, it's one of the things that draws me to the games.

 

As for music, I'd never know whether there was any music, because I always play games after my kids are in bed, so I turn off the sound.

The writing has always been my favorite part of Spiderweb Software's games, and somehow I've never noticed the lack of music.

My understanding is that Spiderweb is limited in its ability to hand out Steam keys to non-Steam purchasers: Steam doesn't give developers carte blanche to hand out free Steam keys for games purchased elsewhere, because then it's supporting the games with its servers without seeing a cut of the sales.

 

If you want to give Spiderweb more money than the game costs on Steam but still want the game on Steam, why not just buy it on Steam and then buy another Spiderweb game on Steam as well? Spiderweb gets more money, and you get two games instead of one.

I'm wanting to buy the game directly from Spiderweb Software in an effort to be more supportive, but what was wondering if I can redeem the game on Steam after purchasing it here? I know it's silly, but I like acquiring the achievements on Steam.

I'm trying to play Exile III on Windows 7 64-bit, but it won't let me run the file I download. I've tried running it in every single compatibility mode available and as an administrator and I keep getting error messages. Does anyone know how to play it? I love Exile III and it really sucks not being able to play it. =/
