About traps- max useful level of Tool Use is (in my opinion) 20. No sense going higher. But i recommend to have 18 level in it and wear gloves +2 when using this skill (Tinker's Gloves) - you can find them....i don't remember exactly where, but probably in Tranquility or close to it.

Sell those piles of crystals (but not focusing ones).

I know, maybe it was posted somewhere... but i can't find exactly where.

So, I have my first problem in Avernum 5 with a quest. I figured all other quests myself ( signed to forum yesterday ) except this one. I have a record in which Epiron-Bok says to look in the northwest caves.

"Look for the square of wall surrounded by crystal pylons. There, trace this symbol in the east wall"

Could you tell me in which cave are those pylons? I have visited each cave few times, used many candles and still didn't find this place.

No, he missed only 1 clue-> There are no blue sparkles.

I would suggest killing charmed characters when you have a strong meleer in party. Before fight give to him a sparkling wand and potions of speed, invulnerability and health. Change game difficulty to easy if needed

It isn't hard to kill him, but few invulnerability potions are a must (at least for me).
