My biggest whoops was after killing the Emperor in Escape from the Pit I went to leave and found out I did not get all the brooches. Erika thanked me for the job and left me there. Oops.

I have been amazed at how well the Spiderweb Software community has stood the test of time. In my 35 years of playing computer games I have seen many strong game lines wither and fade away to obscurity. I have been playing Spiderweb games since Exile 2 was the newest and enjoyed them all since. Will Spiderweb last forever, of course not. I however will continue to enjoy the games and community while possible.

Congratulations. It is funny how 10 years can sometimes feel like a long time and sometimes like a blink of an eye.

I have been playing Angband recently and am enjoying it. The permanent death can be annoying though.
Just a couple weeks ago I sold my copy of Beneath Apple Manor, a Rouge like game that came out 2 years before Rouge. Anyone here remember it?

Q-bert was a top down platformer, if I correct in understanding the term platformer correctly.

If you wish to continue the Geneforge concept you could create a Blades of Avernum scenario about a group of non shapers, like the Shanoi, meeting some shapers, either finding an island, or having to track down some shapers in their lands. Just an idea.

Oh I definitely enjoy the new graphics in Spiderweb's software. But back on Geneforge as a MMORPG I think you could use the engine for Ultima Online as it has the same view point. Not sure how the game play would translate into that engine though.

Us really old gamers will say... Graphics, who needs graphics? At least half of the games I played as a kid did not have any graphics. I can play a modern game with top notch graphics and then go and play Exile II with no loss of fun.

You should be able to get to all those islands by flying first to the smallest and southern most island and then flying to the other two. I seem to remember doing just that a few months ago.

I will play it. I am roughly 9 years out of date on downloading and playing scenarios. I will play brand news scenarios first and then catch up on the last decade.
I am currently writting a scenario myself. It is small as it is my first.
-
I have finished playing it now. The structure of the game works and is very good for your first scenario. I also found the dialogue and personalities poor. I found the narrow halls that loop around the entire screen to be annoying. I dislike fighting in narrow hallways. Also try not to use tiny rooms when you are planning on having a fight there, like the rooms with the books in the goblin lair.
Since there are no specific problems with your first scenario I would recommend you just learn from it and make your next one better.
SPOILER AHEAD
I really liked the backside of the wizard tower. You can't see it until you find it.

The computer in question is a Mac Performa 635cd running System 7.6. I also have running an Apple II, a Mac SE, an iMac, and an eMac. These were all purchased new and are all still in full working condition.
I have worked on and off at a software company so I have had access to all the out of date computers so I have back up computers in case any of mine die.
I do also have a Windows machine, but I hardly ever use it.

Not yet. I plan on downloading as many scenarios as I can and moving them to my computer which has Blades of Exile installed on it. I am embarassed to say that that computer is very old and has not seen the internet since 1996.
I will make a point of running your scenario first. Unless it is huge I should have it finished within a week.
-
It is up to you if you wish to modify your scenario. I would suggest making improvements you want. There is a reason the scenarios have version numbers.

It is good that people are still using BOE and creating scenarios. I am currently creating a scenario and I hope to have it ready in a couple months. Still learning the ins and outs of the program.
I plan on downloading many of the scenarios and giving them a try. I look forward to using this forum more.
Are scenarios still being added to Spiderweb's website or are they just being added to fan sites and individual's sites?

Thank you for the information. I will try it out over the holiday weekend and report back. (Though it makes since that the enlightened method will work)

There is a hut South East of Fort Dranlon that I don't know what it is for. Everytime I try to read or decipher (not sure which, it has been awhile since I have checked it) I get a message that I don't succeed. Anyone know anything about this hut?

Another warning for newbies, or non observant experienced players like me. In Avernum 3 one should not assume it is a good place to leave your horses at the front door if the name of the place is "The FADING Tower." I made it through but the disappearing tower took my horses along for the ride of their lives. I can buy new horses, but I didn't care for my temporary reduced traveling speed.

The only room I know where all the portals take you back to the same room is the NorthWest room. There should be a secret exit in the center to the South.
What area do you live in? (POLL)

I am in Iowa, none of the choices fit so I picked Other. Chicago is five hours away and I have never heard of anyone in Iowa who refers to living near Chicago.
