  1. First of all, thanks so much for making an iPad version of Avadon, it looks absolutely fantastic and the touch screen scrolling feels soooo good.

one small problem I have is in combat, because it is hard to touch exactly the right square to attack, so I find myself continually moving away one square away, getting slowed, ect.

It would be a major improvement to me if you could do the pinch zoom here like in other apps! Is this hard to implement?

  2. ... and now the icing on the cake: just got the scuttlers mission after liberating fort monastery, which I had cleared out on the way up there. So the general is telling me to clean them out, and I have no way of telling him they're already gone. This is just as buggy as the slaves and silvar missions.

I wouldn't mind cheating somehow to clear these quests: anyone know a way to do this? It's not even the reward, just the satisfaction of not seeing these loose ends.

  3. I just did the slaves quest, and it didn't clear either. Maybe it's because I already killed the three Slith bosses, and that gives you another dialogue. This is annoying, since I already have the "silvar" quest that also never cleared for some reason... and yes, I am one of those anal types that loves to finish a Spiderweb game with no outstanding quests.

  4. Just finished the game. Always have that mixed feeling after "winning" a spiderweb game, since I never want them to end, yet it is also gratifying to get to the end.

In this case, I feel a bit sad that the final battle wasn't as exciting as it could have been, probably due to a bit of good fortune. When I arrived to talk with Dorikas, I was well prepared with everyone (including two summoned creatures) buffed to the maximum. I was a bit surprised how few guards Dorikas had, and how easily they were charmed. So, his secret weapon is fear and then escape. Too bad that every time he did that, the next turn was my priest, who cleared it up. I was able to keep the way blocked until he was dead (all those kill wands came in handy). Never needed to explore his castle.

In comparison with Soultaker (shudder), the slith death-curser or that horrible thing in the arena, Dorikas was a piece of cake.

Don't get me wrong. I think it is entirely realistic to have the main human enemy be less powerful than that deamon Nazzwhateverheiscalled. Still, I'd expect him to have a few tricks up his sleeve, or at least be hiding in the far corner after hearing how I slaughtered his entire army on the way to the castle...

  5. I'm now using the money cheats, because I really do hate the bother of collecting junk from dungeons, selling it to merchants, and buying spells part of the game. It distracts from the story. I might start using the "Imdrained" as well, since it saves a trip back to town, which is just done on autopilot and makes certain parts of the game needlessly long. (I'm playing hard by the way).

  6. I always play with the same characters. When I played Exile 1-3 my characters were called "John, Paul, George and Ringo" with "Mick and Keith" if I decided for 6. Now I call my fighter "Alwan" and my female spellcaster "Greta". How many others?

I do a lot of these things. Especially collecting junk and dumping it now that there are no weight limits on items in your pack. That is totally unrealistic, but helps playability. I find it easier just to pick up everything by rapid fire "a" and dump later. Helps too if you think you might have missed something later.

Since you don't know at the start of the game what the silly collectors quests are, you automatically save junk like metal bars, cloth, even pipes and teacups.

  7. Solved!

This was a big work-around, but maybe it will offer hope to others faced in a similar situation: that is, needing an item and not knowing where it is.

    1. get the G2 item editor (the links for this are dead, but somewhere deep in the forum someone posted the code in full).

    2. look in file gforscen in scripts folder for the item number you want to edit.

    3. change for example one of the essence orbs or whatever that the item editor offers with the number you want.

    4. install and run editor. Hope this helps!

  8. Thanks for the help, but it looks pretty grim for running the program in a window. I've tried all your suggestions, and well the best is ALT tab or Windows-tab, both which switch between programs, but it's not very elegant since the display shakes and it takes a few seconds.

    Anyway, thanks for your input!
