Tenderfoot Thahd (2/17)

  1. Hi. I bought A2:TC via Steam to play on my 2013 MacBook Air (13",i7,8GB,10.9.0). The game plays fine but I have noticed it seems to take a lot of CPU and, additionally, while the game is running the kernel task process also uses ~100% of one core. The net result is the machine runs really hot & loud while I am playing. That's pretty unusual although, to be fair, this is one of the few games I've played on here. But I am a little surprised it seems so thirsty. If I shut down A2 the kernel task drops quickly to normal level. Is this expected? Kind regards, Matt
  2. I certainly wouldn't advocate a two-step problem but that doesn't mean there isn't a better solution to be found. For example you could make the target click zone smaller but have it grow on hover. That way it would be really hard to inadvertently click the use icon without (and I'm guessing of course) making normal clicks appreciably more inconvenient. Or... something else. m/
  3. Not for the first time I just had my fighter, who has no spell points, accidentally drink an energy potion I had meant to pick up and drop on another party member. I'm not sure what, if anything, there is anything to do about it but it's annoying enough that I came here to complain about it matt
  4. Thanks Triumph. I didn't take that text literally enough and assumed it was just giving buffs. Good news, we can come back later m/
  5. I have a level-5 party and, though perhaps a little foolhardy, took it into the ancient crypt. I'm playing on Normal level and nothing was particularly taxing right up to Thexa Blooddrinker. As buffed as could be (+drinking the anti-curse water in the secret chamber) and even after lowering to Casual difficulty Thexa would usually lightning the whole party to death in pretty short order. So I figure "No problem, come back in a few levels time" only the main door cannot be opened. I've looked high and low for some answer to that door: examining walls, floor, usables, and so forth but found nothing. Not finding anything in the hint book or online I assumed the answer was behind Thexa and resorted to the cheats to keep the party alive long enough to kill Thexa and the remaining ghasts. Result: a spell book the party can't read, but no answer to the door. Now I'm at something of a loss. I can go back to a save pre-entering the crypt. Or I suppose teleport out using a cheat. But I'm not overly happy with either answer. Barring the argument the party was too low-level to enter the crypt in the first place, where am I going wrong here? TIA Matt
  6. That's sad. It's not that mods are in any way essential to the game but the feeling of missing out on such possibilities might put me off buying any future games from the AppStore. Avadon (my first Spiderweb game) was an impulse purchase in the store. Anyway thanks for the heads up. Matt
  7. Is the reason this doesn't work for the Mac AppStore because the app verifies its package contents and refuses to run? I, of course, have the AppStore version. Do the developers support modding? If so, maybe they could load override scripts from the ~/Library/Application Support folder? Matt
