G5- The G4 Correct Ending

Just in case you guys haven't read enough from the G5 page, this is a quote which tells you what side won G4-

 

"And now, years into the rebellion, the war has settled into a gruesome stalemate."

Of course, most people figured this would be the case. Obviously, the Shaper ending couldn't happen, since that would mean the end of the war. And the rebel ending would have left them vastly overpowered. I always thought the unbound were sort of lame, I hope no one attempts that project again in the new game.

Hold that thought; the Rebel ending wound up in a stalemate. Once again, the Drakons show their incompetence fighting a war by managing to get only a stalemate out of the deadliest superweapon ever developed, one which could have easily smashed through even the strongest Shaper defenses.

A stalemate with unbound and the Shaper's equally horrifying monsters running around--not something a level one PC is going to have much luck against.

Well Jeff has told beta testers that they shouldn't load up on non-combat skills at the beginning. We tend to just walk over rogue creations without upgrading combat skills.

 

Although that might be due to the fact that we love to open locked doors and boxes to look inside. I bet we had trouble waiting to see our presents.

What? So Leadership and Mechanics won't be as vital, in beginning of the game, as it has been in the past?

 

Now I'm confused . . . it seems I won't know how to play the new game.

Well leadership and mechanics are still important, but not as needed as earlier games. There's no Boiling Mudpits where you can get by on those two skills.

 

It's just the monsters are nastier in the demo, at least in torment.
