Rotghroth Rhapsody Uberdhizon
I just started up GF5 and I couldn't see the arrow. I'm not sure if this continues into the game, because I went directly to here. Does anyone know anything about how I might fix it?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Are you in window mode? Try moving the mouse around because it doesn't always appear if you have in near an edge.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Uberdhizon
Okay. it didn't work. This problem didn't seem that bad at first, but I can't even load my file now because I can't see the mouse! I figured out why this is happening! My brother was tampering with the scripts and he made the buttons all weird, so I duplicated the file he needed and sent it to him. NOW I DON'T HAVE IT! What do I do? Ineffable Wingbolt Dahak
Delete the Geneforge 5 folder and reinstall. The saves are in your documents folder so you shouldn't lose those. The modified scripts will be replaced with the defaults when the install completes. Then tell your brother to not mess with the scripts or to make a backup first. Edit: A curious thing. How was the script edited such that the mouse did not show? I could understand if the image was deleted, but the scripts themselves? Mouse functionality should be in the executable. Rotghroth Rhapsody Uberdhizon
I don't get it, either. And I could try to tell my brother that, but he thinks he knows what he's doing, and no one could convince him otherwise. Are you sure it would save my file??? Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
It sounds more like a graphics issue. Quit Geneforge and reopen it with different monitor settings. I don't see how script tampering could make the cursor invisible.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Uberdhizon
I just tried it in full screen. No mouse.
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
Is there no mouse or no cursor? The distinction is important. I know you can't see the cursor, but if you move the mouse around and click repeatedly, does anything register? If yes, it's definitely a display issue of some sort. If no, who knows. Rotghroth Rhapsody Uberdhizon
I can still click and things happen. There's just no cursor. And the 'OK' button to load a file is gone, too, so I can't even TRY to play the game.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Download and install a new copy of the game. Your brother changed the graphics file that Jeff has for the mouse cursor. Your save games will be safe since they are stored in the Document folder and preferences are stored in the Library Preferences folder. Rotghroth Rhapsody Uberdhizon
Ok, I'll try it. Maybe I'll get the new version.
