Blurb
This is the place where Footracer has the strange orange healing machine. I keep trying to smash it, but she leaps and gets in the way, etc. This has been going on for 15 minutes and shows no sign of stopping. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks. Emmisary of Immanence
I'm not sure. The way I've gotten through that is by pounding on Footracer with creations while sending my PC to wreck the machinery. It's possible that you need to lure her out before you can do anything, or it's possible that you need to reduce her health significantly. —Alorael, who does both at the same time by tying her up with creations tough enough to wear her down. Both would be rather hard with a singleton.
Blurb
You're right about distracting her, I think. After a frustrating half hour (maybe more) of trying different things, I found the cheat to get out of the zone and came back in and it worked this time because she was outside the house while the PC was sabotaging the power. The first time, I kept trying to lure her out of the house, but to no avail. Once she's in the room, she wants to stay there. I even had the creations surrounding her so she couldn't move, but she still healed. I tried to get them to lure her out, but she wouldn't cooperate. My mouse hand is killing me. Lilith
The script for that part actually checks the distance between Footracer and the machine, so you basically have to get there before she does.
Blurb
Oh, wow, that's interesting, Thuryl. What was so strange was that the rots had her pinned against the wall so that she couldn't move. But she repeatedly flung herself between the PC and the healing machine. How'd she do that? Okay, I know it's part of the game engine to have something (like distance) to trigger a positive response, but it still made me chuckle. At long last, I tried to get my group out of there legally (without "exitzone") but she tore up the whole crew. It's hard to win against a character who can't be killed. Should have just started the level over with. Wasn't a difficult battle really.
Scubasinger
It took multiple attempts for me to get through here. I usually went in with a group of rothgroths. I dedicated one to engage Footracer outside while the others took care of the fyoras. I kept the PC in the back out of harm's way and buffed the hell out of them. When they were ready, I sent all but the one into the house. My goal each time was to simply pick off ONE of Footracer's assistants. I kept at that until all the assistants were gone and she had only the fyoras, which aren't too much of a problem as long as you keep picking them off as she creates them. Every time I went in, there was always the one rothgroth on her. As long as a creature was right up next to her, she never showed a tendency to go fight anywhere else. Once all the assistants were gone, and only then, I came in with my PC and destroyed the machine. At that point I closed with all of my rothgroths and she was history. Serene Tempest
I actually got through on the first attempt by dumb luck, because I had decided that the mages were the biggest threat to my crawbugs, so I charmed half of the warriors and serviles and so I could ignore them and charge the spellcasters. One of the mages retreated into that room, and after killing it I figured the machine couldn't be doing something that I liked, so I sabotaged it while Footracer was still dealing with her treacherous comrades outside . kaspian
It seems, from my experience, that the important thing is to wait for the game to pop up a window saying something to the effect of, "Hmm, isn't this odd, Footracer doesn't seem to be dying quickly enough -- could she be getting her strength from SOMEWHERE ELSE?" This is your cue to go into her quarters and smash the magic machine. Until then, if you reach the machine, you get something like, "It still has enough strength to defend itself." High mechanics (i.e. 21) doesn't make any difference.
