Easygoing Eyebeast VCH
How do I kill the three shades in the final confrontation. I've gotten them all down to zero health then blasted them with 200+ fire damage, but they wont die. What's up?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
They absorb health from each other, as I'm sure you've noticed. They may also keep doing it for a few rounds after they've all run out. Eventually they stop absorbing and can be killed. If they last more than two or three rounds with no health, you've hit a bug, I think. —Alorael, who wouldn't be too hasty about calling the encounter final, either. It'll let you escape through the locked doors, though.
Rotghroth Rhapsody The Lurker
Ohhh, so the "linked" monsters are back in GF5? *browses through GF notes* Ah, so this kind of fight apparently started in GF3 with the Twinspirit Golems (Testing Grounds) and the Spiritlinked Drakons (Monastery Caves). And of course, there were the Soultaken Twins in GF4. Nice to see that Jeff managed to do it with three enemies at once. He seems to be getting better and better at making boss fights. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
It's possible to avoid the shade fight entirely with enough Leadership. You'll still get the reward for it, too. There's another pair of enemies like them in G5's challenge area, but their health-sharing gimmick is the least of your problems.
Rotghroth Rhapsody The Lurker
Five bucks that you're referring to the bound golems that were mentioned in another thread.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
You get more experience with the leadership option over the combat option for the same reward. I tested it once.
Easygoing Eyebeast VCH
What's the reward? Did I miss something? BTW: The battle was very easy after I realised I needed to hit all three at once.
Garrulous Glaahk BrownieMix
A tasty Gruesome Charm.
Garrulous Glaahk Wanderer
I wish I had found the Gruesome Charm much earlier, with its extra two levels of intelligence. Since it looked like one of those Avernum hunks of meat lying on the floor, I neglected to pick it up and only found it when I came back much later. I assume that Jeff's point is that the very observant get rewarded, while us others stumble around trying to defeat the Unbound ones etc with insufficient energy. Well-Actually War Trall The Ratt
If you read the text it says something like a substantial piece of something organic fell from the shades as they disappeared. That is a hint that it would be worth investigating.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
I'm pretty sure it gets put into your inventory automatically if your pack isn't full.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
You get it automatically if you have a slot and you use the leadership route (more experience) for that fight. If you do the combat approach, I don't think it's automatic.
