Trakovite Mitchell
Back in 05 I started playing the geneforge series. I played G1 and choose the Guardian class. I got to a part that said a non-shaper shaping would result in an assassian finding you and killing you (Aka were shaping was some-what regulated). ANYWAY I got so scared from that I chose the Shaper class. I didnt know that agents and guardians were shapers at the time. And I didnt bother reading the intro story. Anyone ever get a story like this?
Enraged Slith
Yes, though never anything that made me want to start something over. I had a habit of skipping large chunks of text as a child too. I'll admit that I still have to watch myself from time to time.

I sometimes skip the briefings on first-person shooters, but it's never hard to work out what needs to be done. Not reading the intro text of the first game in a brand new world, though, seems slightly idiotic.
Thralni
I always listen to the briefings in FPSs, if there are any (like in Medal of Honor), but I hardly ever read all the briefing text. I just listen to what my superior officers tell me to do, or I go to the objectives and view what I have to do.
