Articulate Vlish FabledOne
I was playing through trying to be a Darkside loyalist. When I finaly reached the point when Ruth asks you to join, only to find out I couldn't join them. What can I do to join them? Was I supposed to do a massacure in a random town, did I say the wrong things some times?
Kyshakk Koan AnarhIztok2511
What exactly did she say? Did she not even mention your joining them or did she keep the offer open, but demanded you showed some "proof" (letting certain people alive or stealing valuable items)? ps: When you first met her - what did you say to her? Articulate Vlish FabledOne
Something about needing proof I was sincere. I said I wanted to join her the first time.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
where you met her 1st time? at exodus or at dark river?
Articulate Vlish FabledOne
Exodus
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Exodus is only the first meeting where you pretend that you want to join. There is a second meeting much later in the game where Ruth asks for proof that you are loyal to the Darkside.

Kyshakk Koan AnarhIztok2511
Something about needing proof I was sincere Yep, now I know what you mean: Click to reveal.. You have to either had let Tholmen go, had killed Solberg or had stolen his papers. I don't think any other things work, or do they? Cos you can also offer the anama text books and that perfect crystal, but aside from interesting dialog it doesn't bring you anything. Well-Actually War Trall Acky
Technically, its his Dervish Tholemen that makes you do it.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Or if you killed Tholmen, then another identical irritating Dervish.
Unflappable Drayk Evnissyen
So... I suppose that giving your radical opinion to the woman at Harkin's Landing accounts for nothing. (Why is it even an option then, if the game isn't looking for something from you? At least in the GF games: what you say matters.)
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
exodus not harkin's, you need to be nice to Ruth at exodus too if you want to join Darkside.
Unflappable Drayk Evnissyen
(After a quick check...) At Harkin's Landing there's a woman named Duaria in the back room at the pub, she's an Empire spy. She asks you your opinion of the "worms" and of Empress Prazac's friendlier treatment of Avernum. That's whom I was referring to. One would think that giving her your opinion would affect a certain faction's attitude toward you. I mean... I thought that that's what that particular dialogue option was for?
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Some things are just for atmosphere. I never picked you as a gamist.

Garrulous Glaahk BlueRivets
Does she really ask you your opinion, because I don't remember, unless killing that guy is considered giving your opinion.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
walkthrough mentioned only to be nice to Ruth and that dervish other Darkside agents prolly exists for showing DL's are everywhere (almost).
