Fledgling Fyora Demorde
Hello, I recently saw that BoE has become OpenSource, and has been for a bit of time now. So, knowing that - I'm wondering if it has been updated for Windows at all (bug fixes, feature addition, whatever, etc.) and, if its available? If not, where is a good place to get a compiled binary of the open source version.
Easygoing Eyebeast keira
Ormus's build is the most recent. http://info.wsisiz.edu.pl/~kowalsg0/ It gets rid of the annoying intro music and picture, and removed passwords entirely, along with some other stuff. What? But that's terrible! That intro screen should be kept at all costs! I'm not against having an option to disable it or skip it, but the first time someone opens the game, they should see that. Understated Ur-Drakon The Almighty Doer of Stuff
I like the intro as well. Ormus said he only disabled it because it was annoying to sit through it every time he closed and opened the program, which he did often to test things and fix bugs and stuff. Ineffable Wingbolt DesertPlah
Is it just me, or does it not work when unpacking with WinRar? Something about the sounds file.
Easygoing Eyebeast keira
Have you tried it with 7-zip? If that doesn't work, I could upload a .zip for you...
Ineffable Wingbolt DesertPlah
Both winrar and 7-zip tell me that boesounds.dll is busted.
Easygoing Eyebeast keira
I uploaded boesounds.dll, along with the rest of the game, onto Skydrive. http://cid-7c0b1ecd4408eaa8.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/exile/BoE|_Full

Ineffable Wingbolt DesertPlah
Now, step one: Play through VODT and get my mojo back. (Maybe the Arc as well.) Step two: Make awesome scenario, better than The Foolish Giant. Not that TFG was bad, it just wasn't high-caliber. I'm going to show Alc a thing or two! Well-Actually War Trall Balladeer
Should we hold you to that and pelt you with tomatoes if you fail to come through?
Ineffable Wingbolt DesertPlah
Heh, funny story. Not gonna tell it, but I've done that before. Seriously, though, I have released one before, and know what will work and won't work. So yes, pelt me with tomatoes if I fail. Just don't ask me for a timeframe. Got me pelted last time. I've checked this and everything is fine. There must have been some problems with the server on which my files are stored.
Ineffable Wingbolt DesertPlah
Don't know what to say. I got A version of it, and it works, and doesn't have ZKR or ASR, so I figure it's the one. Any easy way to test if it's the newest or not? Easygoing Eyebeast keira
I uploaded the current version (12:51 2008-06-02). Also, you can get ASR and ZKR by looking in the 'official' source code.
Ineffable Wingbolt DesertPlah
I don't care for ZKR, and ASR is in Kel's archive, and I might not get it anyway.
