Blades of Avernum_2

Any news or rumors whether plans exist for a sequel to Blades of Avernum ? Games with game editors have always provided longer replay value for me.

 

 

I would also be interested in a game such as Avernum 5 or Avernum 6 if it included a random game generator. This way once it's finished I could play a new unique game where the quests, NPCs, terrain, shops, monsters, mazes, and items would be different.

Jeff doesn't seem to want to upgrade Blades of Avernum. He did release the source code for Blades of Exile so the members could upgrade that to more recent operating systems and add new features.

 

I doubt Avernum 6 will have a random game generator since Jeff doesn't want the extra work.

 

Try Niemand's Blades of Rogue if you want a randomly generated experience each time you play.

Jeff will be busy with the final Geneforge for the rest of this year. Blades of Avernum didn't sell that well, which further decreases the chances of a second version happening.

That, and he said he'll never write any game like Blades again (with scenario editor).

 

If you've tried making your own scenario, you can understand why; and also you can understand why there are far less scenarios and successful designers for boa than for boe.
