Pylon travel question

I've been dutifully going around, stuffing crystals in pylons. But I'm not quite clear: is pylon teleportation one-way? That is, I know how to go from, e.g. Shanker's Tower to the Static Fields, but I can't figure out how to teleport back.

Is this correct? Or is there something I'm missing?

EDIT: Never mind, I discovered the portal in the Static Fields. Careless me!

The pylon system is there (a holdover from A4) to let you jump around to distant areas.

Once you activate a pylon, just click on it and you'll be teleported to the Portal Fortress, in the demo area. You'll land in a SE room. (Sgt. Cienna will be there, and you can talk with her if you wish. You're supposed to report to her from time to time anyway.)

To go somewhere else, or to go back, walk to the big glowing teleporter in the middle of the room. Click on that. It will give you a choice of all the pylons you have activated. Click on where you want to go and you'll go there.

So yes, the pylons work both ways--just with a stop in the portal fortress. You can teleport from, say, Muck, to the portal fortress, and then teleport right back to Muck again, if you want.

It's a handy system.
