About how much arcane lore will be enough to read most of the magic tomes that are sitting around throughout the game? 2. Is there any way to get information on the location of the Venemous Mong Bat quest from that New Harston guy without entering the employ of Gladwell? 3. How do I survive the death curse that is placed on me in that Slith temple by the Slith zombie like guy? 4. Is it possible to retain the really nice weapons etc available in the Fang Clan testing thing? (In this situation I assume that it will involve considerable violence) 5.Kherr is apparently hiding with the Fang Clan. Where exactly is he? More questions may arise at a later date. See here about arcane lore that is needed. It's broken down by total arcane lore so you can see where to quit. You can get trained for 3 levels and there are items to give you another 6 levels later in the game. 2. Is there any way to get information on the location of the Venemous Mong Bat quest from that New Harston guy without entering the employ of Gladwell? You can get information from Galena near Shankar's Tower so you never need to take Gladwell's geas. 3. How do I survive the death curse that is placed on me in that Slith temple by the Slith zombie like guy? You need to drink from the filled basin that appears about a round or two after you get cursed. There are 4 and it's random which one gets filled next. It really helps to have a summoned creature keep the Slith Horror busy while you run back to get cured. 4. Is it possible to retain the really nice weapons etc available in the Fang Clan testing thing? (In this situation I assume that it will involve considerable violence) The weapons are supposed to be removed automatically when you reach a point on leaving. I never tried so see if you could drop them and pick them up from beyond that point. 5.Kherr is apparently hiding with the Fang Clan. Where exactly is he? Kherr is sitting in the room to the northeast with some other nephils in the northwest corner. If you challenge him, he goes below to the storeroom part of the testing area so you need to have done the testing to get to him. I never tried challenging first. Edit - You do need to train/add to nature lore to 5 level to get through the Sentinel Workshop prime sentinel fight. That's scripted so I doubt there is another way to do it. Maloesie Posted April 7, 2008 Share Posted April 7, 2008 I have the answer on question 4: you can keep the ceremonial items if you give them all to 1 partymember and let this member be killed by the friendly (if you have enough nature lore and before you attack him) worg (the wolf n the eastern parts of the testing area). After you let him be killed you exit the testing area and go to Shanker's tower and revive him. He then still has the ceremonial goodies. If you still have to go west of Shanker's tower, leave the items at the tower, otherwise you will loose them after all. You can take them to the rapids and beyond!!! And a response to Randomizer's post: It might be a bug in the PC version... but I challenged Kherr, at first, AFTER I did the trial, and therefore wasn't able to get to him (they wouldn't let me through to get to him since I did the trial already)... so I had to do the whole thing over again, challenge him before the trial and then meet him at the end of the trial (head north from the cache they leave for you). Randomizer Posted April 7, 2008 Share Posted April 7, 2008 After you do the Trial, there is supposed to be a gate that opens to let you get to the cache area where Kherr waits while the gate to the Trial is now locked. Evnissyen Posted April 9, 2008 Share Posted April 9, 2008 Yeah, I seem to remember being locked out of both rooms when I went back. Kherr was waiting for me behind the bars and I couldn't get to him. So I had to go back to an earlier save, row myself over to the Fang Clan lands and do the whole thing all over again but find Kherr and challenge him first. I don't have a save that goes back far enough to allow me to check on it again, so if anyone else with the Windows version happens to be able to... or is yet to go through it (Purry?)... then maybe they can enlighten us as to whether or not this actually is a bug in the Windows version? ...sigh... I really miss my Mac. They really are so much superior to PC's. This damn Dell sucks the long organs of all kinds of unpleasant species... with little effect.
