For example, I have been nice to people in Kentia, saying I will help them and the shapers need to make amends. Will that make me pro rebel? That wasn't my intention but oh well. However, you can still be fairly nice to people and still be counted as pro-shaper, just don't overdo it. I find it best to not give an opinion unless directly asked, and to also make sure that I always get the maximum out of a given quest.
