Radix Malorum Est Cupiditas
Make some support creations and hack your way through everything.
$$$
So what skills should you focuss on?
Jaid
presumably a little bit of shaping and then your melee skills. a little leadership and mechanics might be nice to give you some options though.

Drakefyre
Guardians start out strong with a big emphasis in Strength, Melee, and Parry. If you want to improve missile weapons too, batons can be a real help.
VCH
I don't use any creations when playing a Guardian.

$$$
What about armour? I'm having a hard time choosing between equiping a Dryak skin tunic and a Thahd skin tunic. What type of armour should I use if I play as a melee guardian and missle guardian? And what skills should I focus on if play as a missle guardian? Oh, and by the way this is for Geneforge 2. Radix Malorum Est Cupiditas
DeVlish\'s response to your last question can be found here. G3 and G2 are very similar in their skill setup. Try searching a little bit before asking questions like these.
Zeviz
Quote: Originally written by $$$:... Oh, and by the way this is for Geneforge 2. In that case, the main skill for you is Parry. In Geneforge 2, unlike in Gf3, Parry can make you almost invincible. Not only that, but at high enough skill levels (13-18) Parry can make enemies kill themselves by attacking you. Zeviz
Quote: Originally written by MagmaDragoon: Really? Whoa! In Geneforge 2, a high level (17 or 18) Parry gives you 50% chance to get no damage, 50% to get half damage (if your armor is good, that's almost like getting no damage) and 50% chance to reflect the damage back. So 3 out of 4 times you'd take [almost] no damage from [non-magical] attacks, 1 out of 8 times the enemies would attack themselves and only 1 out of 8 times would you take full damage (decreased by your armor, spells, etc.)

Delicious Vlish
Missiles in G2, erm, inhale sharply. Not worth the trouble.

Zeviz
Quote: Originally written by Cirion:*laughs dryly about 150% chance...* what a strange world. I know it's a bit late, but the thread is active again and I just saw this. It's a 87.5% chance, rather than 150% chance, because you can't simply add probabilities of consecutive events. For example, you get a chance to block partial damage only if you fail to block full damage. So your total chance of getting partial damage is: 50% (chance of failing to make full block) * 50% (chance of making partial block) = 25% Thus your total chance of getting hit with less than max damage with Parry of 17 or 18 is: 50% chance of blocking full + 50% (not blocking full) * 50% (blocking partial) + 50% (not blocking full) * 50% (not blocking partial) * 50% (ripost) = 87.5%
