Lilith
Is there any it_icon_adjust value that will turn a brown object (such as a rope or crossbow) grey? I tried tinting to a neutral shade but it didn't seem to do much.
Emtaera
Just a hunch, try tinting it grey, then green, blue, then red, that might bring it to neutral.
Kelandon
I think you may have mis-read his post. It seems like it would be easy enough to copy the graphic into a graphics program and turn it into a black and white image, but I don't know if that would achieve the right effect. Dahak
Or put it into an editor and make it grayscale. There is no way to make objects gray unless they contain alot of white/black already within BoA.
Lilith
Well, that's discouraging. Thanks. I want people to be able to take the item out of the scenario, so I'll probably just darken it and try to get it as close as possible to black instead. Dahak
Couldn't you, just for the scenario, use a custom, and when they leave swap it for an okay item with a different graphic?
Lilith
Maybe. I'll mess around a little more over the weekend and see how various adjustments look. How does icon adjustment work, anyway? Do the tints act as additive or subtractive colours, or is it more complicated than that?
Dahak
Um. No clue. I know that if I looked in the 3D editor code the answer would be there, but I'm lazy.
JadeWolf
Speaking of icon adjustment, does anyone know how to turn am item black?
Dahak
If the item is already dark then use add value
JadeWolf
But it's not already dark. It's a sword.
Lilith
Probably can't be done without a custom graphic, then. Could you achieve the effect you're looking for with red or purple or something instead of black?
Formerly II
Maybe invert? If the sword blade is white/silver/shiny...
JadeWolf
A red sword would do, but it's supposed to be some sort of evil sword, so black would be best. I'll try inverting the pixels.
JadeWolf
NO. That just made it all light blue and whitey silver. Looked strangely ethereal.
Dahak
If you are using the standrd sword graphic in BoA, the darkest you can get is if you use a value of 16. I've yet to manage darker w/o a custom graphic.
