Floor Bug

Recommended Posts

Hi there all,

I have designed various floors and placed them accurately in my custom graphics sheet.

They draw fine in the 3D scenario editor. smile

They do not draw fine in BoA itself. eek

In fact, they draw as if they were one pixel too far to the right.

So I thought, hmm, well, okay, I'll shift them left by one pixel.

Now, they appear as if they are one pixel too far to the left in both BoA and the 3D editor. mad

Can anyone help me out here?

I'm assuming you're using a Mac, since you use the 3D editor. It'd be useful to know what graphics editor you're using to make the graphics, and what resource editor you're using to insert them. (I've had trouble with ResEdit lately and prefer ResFool .)

By the way, if you haven't done so already, be sure to submit your floors to the Louvre once you get them working.

Hi,

Yes, I am using a Mac, with OSX 10.3.8. I have been using Appleworks (which I dislike, but hey, it's free; can you recommend a better free program?) and ResEdit (running in Classic).

I will now try ResFool.

Sure, I'll submit all the graphics to the Louvre as a package when the scenario is complete. At the moment, I can't guarantee that any of them actually work properly!

Yeah, uh, Barebones has discontinued BBEdit Lite, and replaced it with Text Wrangler 2.0, which is what I use for scripting. It's great!

But for actually drawing the graphics, I have to use AppleWorks. I was using Corel Painter IX, but only on a trial run, and my 30 days ran out.

Needless to say, I don't have the hundreds of dollars required to actually buy Painter, although I'd love to because it is truly fantastic.

AppleWorks may well be your problem; others have had similar issues with it before. Tried GraphicConverter ? It has a nag screen but is otherwise free.

There is a version of the 3d editor for Windows now.
Now both 3D Editor, Mac and Win, are supported on
Project: BoA Editor Remake on SourceForge.net

Current version

  • 3D BoA Editor for Windows Beta test release3 February 13, 2005

Both 3D editor are updated recently. Check out now!! (Advertise mode)
[EDIT]
The Windows version is implemented as equivalent to Mac version as possible. The major difference is next key binding. Windows keyboard doesn't have option key.
