just a bit curious onto what some of the community is working on. whats your upcoming scenario?, name, approx size and completion and perhaps a couple sentences on whats it about

mine for instance;

Prophet of Doom, about 14 towns. Im about 65% done, planning and custom graphics finished, bout half the maps and I finally worked out avernumscript so Im getting into that.

Its first part of a trilogy I'm making and sets the ground work for the non-avernum world its set in. Its a bit of a survival-horror where your can choose to save the locals or just your own ass as the town is torn apart by plagues, as you get thrown into the secret soceity of quarraling factions that have incredible power.

Better stop there before I get carried away.

your turn smile

The Serpents Fang, undecided amount of towns, but bordering on the higher numbers, generally made to be a game in itself more then a scenario inside of a game. About 10% complete, which means I have just about everything except a bit of terrain work and lots of scripting.

Main Story: Below the surface is Exile. Below Exile is the Vahnatai lands. No one knows whats below the Vahnatai. Thats all you get.

Edge of Cipirus.

It was originally going to be released a while ago, but I destroyed it and completely rebuilt it with better custom graphics. I'm about 40% done now.

Plot/Catch Line: When the first discovery team didn't return themselves or a message, something was known to be wrong. The bosses decide to send a recovery team (you, of course). But what you discovery is beyond frightening.

This, as you might have guessed, is a horror story, with very little combat. It's mainly adventure, puzzle, and story. It comes with it's own character for you to use to keep the story straight.

This is also being made into an HL2 mod, *insert link here* (sorry website isn't up yet), with different setting (not fantasy), and obvious changes. But that's a way off.

My scenario will be called Bahssikava. It's SO DARN CLOSE TO BEING DONE. I've made 20 towns, and I have two more to go. Virtually all of the writing is done; I just have to finish off the last part of the last dungeon and write the ending. Then some alpha testing, and I'll send out a beta call. I'm hoping to get that beta call out sometime this week, but who knows. School has really bogged me down, or else it would've happened two weeks ago.

The scenario (if people aren't sick of the one-sentence plot summary by this point) is about sliths trying to get back to their homeland through Lost Bahssikava.

Well im not sure if I should post since im really just playing with the unregistered editor and writing lots of plotnotes.

Legacy of the Warlord, will have around a dozen towns/dungeons, a few newish graphics and scripting quality is yet to be decided. It will be a low level adventure that shouldn't take to long to complete (its a starter scene idea after all).

The story is based during the time of Avernum 2, where your a small band of Empire Soldiers sent to take care of a problem on the surface concerning an Ogre uprising.

RAH—My scenario will be out soon but betatesting is a bit slow. I am a slow worker. Plus school. That, and this is the first time I ever tried betatesting. Yay. The story sucks (I think), but it's a story I've thought of half a year ago. That, and I had to shorten it by a lot. YEY.

Playing it may cause brain damage. I dunno.

Eventully, when I learn how to do what I want on the editor, I'm going to make 'Twisted Happenings'. It's sad, but there's no better description then that to describe my idea. It has a lot of parodies, is anti-Bush, and is made with apologies to the cockroaches.

Currently, I'm working with my sister on 'Tempest' so we can both get better at scripting. I'm not going to say anything about it because if I do, you're going to develop an opinion of it before you play.

I'm also working on an untitled scenario, because with 'Tempest', it's mostly my sister's scenario, so I only get to toss out ideas and try and figure out the insrtuctions for scripting. The untitled scenario is about your party going on vacation to The Valley of Madness only to find that everybody has suddenly turned sane.

All of these scenarios will probably end up being short.

My scenario has the very lame title of "The Demon Stone".

Quite obvioulsy it's about a stone that can summon demons. But more on that in a second.

It's maybe 20 percent finished at the moment, but since I started at college last week I had the urge to play Exile 3 again, and so it sits all alone on drive D:. I've got almost all of the terrain sorted, and a lot of scripting is done, but I got bogged down with dialogue - there's so much!

It's not gonna be big - it's my first proper attempt, maybe 10 towns, but I'm hoping the story will blow you away.

Speaking of which, if you've seen the Matrix films you'll have an idea of the kind of thing going on here. Obviously I don't wanna spoil anything (at least not till later), but a few clues are that you are a group of adventurers prophesised about long ago, and you alone can save an island from a terrible fate. Yawn.

But wait....! The best bit is watching your characters, i.e. you, struggling to come to terms with your destiny. It's all very strange, and it took my and my mate the better part of a month to iron out the plot.

But enough! I must save Valorim! Back to the clunky, if strategically brilliant, world of Exile 3!

Well then,

that's fine. We all have brain damage already laugh

I gave up on scenario designing a while ago, mainly due to my hatred of writting dialog, which I am horribly bad at (not the scripting, but the actual dialog itself). I still have two unfinished scenarios sitting in my hard drive. I may work on them again one day, but right now I'm concentrating on... other things.

One of my scenarios sent you on a quest to uncover the lair of a wizard who was kill by his own summoned minions long ago. All I finished was the starter town where your quest is introduced and the ship voyage to the island that supposedly contains the wizards lair, along the way you encounter a kraken (giant squid monster) that you must kill before it destroys the ship.

My other scenario was a test to see if I could create a random dungeon generator. It actually ended up working out pretty well, although I had to use a cheap trick to overcome the 32000 node call limit (it forcecages the entire party and breaks the script down into different sections each round until it's finished). I never added a monster spawner or stairway placer or anything, so it just creates a random maze with rooms and no way to exit. If anyone wants the scenario/script for whatever reason they can email me, but it is mostly uncommented and would be hard to make changes to.

The second scenario you made. If you edited that, included the exit, added monsters and so on, you could have a simple scenario - which would change every time people entered the town! Also, if you include more than one town into it, you could have a bunch of towns, all different every single time you play!

Mine is "The Ransom" roughly 30% done.

Synopsis: Your lord's beutiful daughter has been kidnapped by an evil cult. The ransom is a unique object. Your lord has given you order's to deliver it. Along the way you are stopped and robbed of all of your money, weapons and most important the object. Your quest is now 3 fold.

1. Locate and recover the object (and all of your items that were taken)

2. Pay the ransom and recover the lord's daughter.

3. Do so within a limited amount of time.

Of course things are not always as they seem..this is Avernum smile

I've vaguely planned out a scenario as follows:

An introduction during the Avernum-Empire wars, where the party are Imperial irregular troops, helping an attack on an Avernite outpost. Kill lots of avernite soldiers with help from a squad of troops, rescue tortured prisoners, etc. After all avernites are dead, Vahnatai will arrive in an endless stream, forcing the player to retreat.

Fast forward 10 years.

Party tours Praglad, visiting a peaceful town in a peaceful vale. Town is nice and decadent, and disdainful of the party. Perhaps racist. News of Avernites causing plagues in Valorium. Then an Avernite envoy arrives.

Now, divide into two paths. Player can switch paths up to a point, by persuing certain actions.

Path A:

Player kills the envoy, protecting the town.

Player is arrested by Mayor for disorder, but contacted and secretly released.

Player sneaks into Imperial fort, and talks to an old comrade. Is told that Prazac had been scared by Avernites into submission, and that he is part of a secret force to restore the integrity of the Empire.

Player ordered to attack Avernites taken on escorted tour around vale.

Player ordered to kill Imperial scouts assigned to lead group, and locate rogue Imperial army people.

Player ordered to attack main Avernite camp.

Player ordered to 'cleanse' town of Avernite influence.

Path B:

Player talks to envoy, learning of Avernum-Empire treaty.

Player leads delegation of Avernites, surviving 'bandit' ambushes.

Player survives assassination attempt.

Player accumulates evidence pointing to real source of attacks.

Player attacks base, killing big bad boss.

Currently 2% complete. mad

Quarist,

Since the robbery of the gear and item is a non-event...(meaning it is going to happen no matter what). It is the recovery of the items that is the fun thing. The locations of everything is random, as the bandits scattered after the robbery, and have divided the loot.

As for the "evil cult". That is the story your lord gives you. As to the cult accually being evil, or even a cult, when I get the scenario done and released, you will have to play it and figure things out in the allotted time
