Chopkinsca
I faintly remember this in the original Geneforge. The antenna on mines would stop dancing when they were deactivated. It sure would make it easier to notice if they will blow up when I walk near them. As it is now, active mines have a semi-regular particle effect. I suppose I just need to slow down and watch for that special effect. Isaiah
Randomizer
The antenna keeps moving, but other effects stop. It isn't as noticeable so I save quite often going through those areas. Isaiah
Chopkinsca
Thinking about it, "deactivated" might even be the wrong word. They are active, but just smell me as friendly. I do save before I walk towards mines. I also take a moment to look for the effect.
mikeprichard
This is something I think (?) was a change from prior games that I really don't like - I wish the mine antennae would simply stop moving after they're deactivated. You just have to look for the sparklies, but I also still take great care around them either way.
TriRodent
As someone who generally clears the minefields by casting Essence Shield & then walking into the dumb things...my opinion my not be the greatest... I don't mind how it is now. On my computer at least the sparkles were very noticeable (or lack thereof I suppose). But I too also quicksave before setting them off just in case. mikeprichard
Ha, I do the same thing - never used a single baton in the game. Played as a solo Guardian, Essence Shield up, walked over the things (one at a time for the bigger ones).
