A3: RW, Dispel Barrier find?

Way too many barriers in play to deal without the spell any longer, can someone clue me into location for it?

In that case, after Vahkos mists out the first time you fight him, do you need Dispel Barrier to find him at the back of the castle or am I missing something?

You do need to get past a barrier to get to Vahkos, I can't remember if a piercing crystal will work or not (I think it does - Level 1 barrier iirc)

 

If your tool use is pretty good you may be able to get to the library (non Khoth) where the DB book is kept without doing the associated quest first. Look around for hidden switches on the nearby walls

Thanks, also I just noticed I have (2) of the special item "Dark Thoughts." "Terrifying images you saw in your journeys infect your dreams"... no idea where or when I picked this up, didn't see any text alluding to something like that. Was it from Vahkos, and does it have stat or storyline effects?

Your party has PTSD from something they experienced and have used their rapid adventurer brains to cope immediately. It grants you a small amount of mental effects resistance. 1% is what someone said last time I asked, I think.

What is it that triggers that?

Doing certain things triggers it like reading certain spell books in the Tower of Magi,  Lair of Vahkohs, and Lair of Khoth. Consider it a way of teaching you to be careful what you do.
