Curious Artila catphive
how risky is changing the day in the A3 character editor? I'm at day 28 and I haven't even finished the slime quest. I like to find and finish every little mini quest, every secret in an area before progressing. I'd like to be able to continue to take it slow without worrying about the game running out of time. Also, I've heard that some towns get destroyed at certain days, and I'd like to not have to worry about getting there and getting any items from them before they get destroyed. Is it risky to change the day? (i.e. will it screw up certain events?). Are there some safe periods I can change the day at? Let me know, thanks. Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Altering the date won't cause any problems. There's one event that you won't see if you don't let the clock advance, and it's worth seeing, but you can worry about it later. —Alorael, who has gotten good results by setting the day to 150 and using the rest command repeatedly. If you want to see some interesting but nonessential things you can do that later in the game when you feel comfortable handling some rather tough battles. Unflappable Drayk Jeran Korak
Linda gets to work again if you leave it to long.
Seasoned Roamer Hondero
Even if you do play slowly (IMO the way to go), it doesn't really matter. Besides the special thing that O Soberano said would happen, the only thing that occurs if you wait a while is that a couple of towns will be destroyed, people will move, etc. Don't worry about it. Easygoing Eyebeast Xaiya
A few things will happen including Sharmik having a troglo jail (If the plague is not settled for a while). Edit -Randomizer, I would have edited it when I got back to this thread, but thank you for already taking care of it.

Understated Ur-Drakon Callie
Avernum 3 can easily be completed before day 100. In fact, Once I finished the game before day 50.
Garrulous Glaahk D Pliss
Yes, i found A3 almost dissapointign casue it was the easiest game i had ever played {and stil ever played} on my life, while that is bad, it is also very fun to beat it 6 times a day
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
Play on torment with a human singleton. You must accept and complete every quest in the game, and then kill everything that is killable, including Rentar-Ihrno.
Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
Fun's fun, but a challenge like that, to me, sounds more like a study in masochism. I thought it was tough enough that I prefer to play the Avernum games on torment with a full party, and give everybody "Cursed at Birth" and "Completely Inept" character traits. By the way, does "every quest" include the job boards?
Easygoing Eyebeast Xaiya
Randomizer had already edited my other post. I edited myself. Anyway, umm Rentar is not killable in A3. You can't even do 1 damage.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Yes you can. You just have to think outside the box.

Magnificent Ornk Kelandon
It's really annoying when she starts healing herself, though.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
The trick is to capture Eyebeasts or Gazers in the Soul Crystal and use Simulacrum. A few Arcane Summons for Rentar's summons, autocombat until your creatures start fading, and you're good.
