Tenderfoot Thahd Rich
Anyone have any idea what the tome in the Nephilim fort at the very beginning of Avernum 2 does? It only says "Your head hurts, but you can't help but feel that the tome did something wonderful for you", and after a while of playing around with it, I can't figure out what it did. Easygoing Eyebeast Zeviz
Check your stats very carefully before and after you use it. I think this might be a cursed tome that drains your experience.
Unflappable Drayk Toenail Returns
You sure? I always thought it did something positive...
Easygoing Eyebeast Zeviz
EDIT: Looks like the faq was talking about a different tome. According to Shrodinger's faq ( http://www.geocities.com/zeviz1/ch1.html#nephil_fort ) it gives you Move Mountains spell.
Tenderfoot Thahd Rich
The Move Mountains spell is on a bookshelf on the opposite end of the Nephil fort, and it doesn't hide what it is. The mysterious tome we're talking about is something else entirely! The only effect I could figure out by looking at my stats is that it lowers your experience when you read it. If it has any other, benefitial effect, I can't figure out what it is.
Easygoing Eyebeast Zeviz
Thanks for telling us. So it looks like my first answer was right after all. I remember seeing a cursed tome somewhere near the start of A2/E2.
