Giant caverns NE corner

I cannot get to the NE corner of the giant's cavern.   Most FAQ's simply say cross the lava to get to the ladder leading down, but in Ruined World, you cannot cross.   There is no apparent way to get there.   Suggestions?

Found the secret button when I was leaving to go turn in the quest.   Clever.
