Garrulous Glaahk Ociporus
I really have been enjoying 'building' a town. My only 'beef' is that it requires me to either memorize where each shop is set up, or visit all of them until I find, say, my blacksmith. It would be helpful if our 'town map' would show where each of our buildings are, like it does for other important buildings in a town. Thanks for the game! Fledgling Fyora Velitace
You can use the sign decoration to label the shops, though it doesn't show up on the minimap.
Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb
I'll be reworking this a lot in Queen's Wish 2. There are the banners, but yeah, it's not ideal as it is. notarockstar, Slarti and Jenekee
Garrulous Glaahk Minion
I suggest placing the four shops in the open houses, since they are the only ones you will be visiting frequently, and placing the other upgrades in the closed buildings that you have to enter. I assume that Jeff intentionally made exactly four spaces accessible directly on the town map for this very purpose. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I try to position them in roughly the same places in each fort. However in one game, I had bought a shop and couldn't figure out which fort was missing it.

Very helpful.

And today was the day I learned about the banners...doh

Okay, where's the option to select a different sign? I tried putting up signs on my first two buildings, but I got the smith sign on both of them. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
After placing the banner, clicking again on the banner gives you the option of removing it or clicking through to change the banner to a different shop. I only found out by accident. This also happens for placing a picture on a wall.
