Garrulous Glaahk Vinlie
Recently I've completely cleared out the Sealed Catacombs and defeated The Titan. I was just curious if there was another hidden end game boss somewhere in the game.
Well-Actually War Trall alhoon
Never really did that one. Is it worth it to play this zone enjoyment-wise in your opinion? I don't care about loot and stuff since I will go there using my end-game save.
Garrulous Glaahk Vinlie
alhoon it's quite tough in the Catacombs. I found it to be extremely enjoyable because I had to utilize everything in my arsenal to even stand a chance. I'd definitely recommend it. alhoon
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
The next most difficult optional fight in the game is probably Matala, although you can reach that a bit before the endgame. Another challenge you could try to take on if you're on the Rebel path is clearing out Alwan's assault group when you first encounter them in Northforge Warrens, instead of scouting the area and retreating as the game tells you to do. I tried that. They wiped the floor with me.
Garrulous Glaahk Vinlie
Wait, can you actually kill Alwan's group before you they even reach Northforge?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Depending upon the difficulty level and your party you can. Getting to the area closest to Alwan lets you enter a safe zone where the machinery isn't damaging your party. It's doable on normal difficulty and Jeff expected some players to do it. Well-Actually War Trall alhoon
Oh, you mean when they're in the machinery place? Yes, I did that and killed Miranda there. I thought you meant when they were in their secret camp, all together, before they leave for Northforge.
Garrulous Glaahk Vinlie
Do you get an alternate ending if you defeat them in the warrens or what?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Jeff replaces named characters with equivalents if you kill them earlier in the game. He does it in other games. The hidden Shaper camp before Northforge is harder, but Delicious Vlish mentioned wiping it out.
Garrulous Glaahk wackypanda
No alternate ending, but some of the dialogue in the final area will change. I found the Shaper camp (Poryphra?) even with Alwan and Miranda present to be easier than the Northforge Warrens. Maybe it was because I didn't know where the safe spot was. I didn't see an agent in the group the Shapers sent in Northforge after killing Miranda. Frankly, their invasion was a joke while in the Warrens they were harder. I could just sit back and the NPCs would butcher everyone. Akhari Blaze and Greta killed Alwan, so I probably haven't killed him in the Warrens though. I remember that cause I tried hard to make sure that Greta would be the one to kill Alwan.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I haven't played this game since it came out so I could be wrong.
Well-Actually War Trall alhoon
Well, it's not like I played it recently either... I could be wrong too. Edited May 9, 2018 by alhoon
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
If you kill both Alwan and Miranda in Northforge Warrens, you actually get to skip the final battle in Northforge entirely, although if you're capable of doing that the final battle wouldn't have been a problem for you anyway. Garrulous Glaahk Vinlie
Lmao I just used 2 ur-drakons + mass energize and wiped the floor with them
Well-Actually War Trall alhoon
You got Ur-drakons? I didn't manage to get even the 2nd canister I think, let along the 3rd. If it was at the finale, I didn't see the reason anyway as my trusty Drakon had leveled significantly and would probably be better than a brand new Ur-Drakon. And cheaper, allowing me to use more spells.
Garrulous Glaahk Vinlie
The problem of Ur-Drakons being under leveled late game is negated by the fact that i use a combo of Shapermaster Boots (+2 Fire Shaping), Flameweaver Greaves (+2) Volcanic Fetish (+1), Shaper Robe (+1) plus my base fire shaping skill adds to an accumulative amount of fire shaping of +10 overall. Using that +10 shaping and the knowledge of 3 drakon canisters, a freshly made Ur-drakon is a whopping level 48. Make two of those and you get these two powerful monsters that can do 250 fire damage that adds a slow effect to whatever it hits. It's literally unstoppable lol. Well-Actually War Trall alhoon
Seems true, but I didn't have a problem stopping anything. Perhaps if I go to that hidden boss you said.
