Fledgling Fyora Cruiser
Hi all, I bought the game yesterday but have yet to play it. My question is do avernum games still have no background music? If so can anyone suggest some tracks to listen to while playing this game? Something like "50s hits" for fallout 3, only appropriate for Avernum. Thanks very much
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The games have background sounds. The gentle screams of dying monsters. Zaego

Curious Artila Golgolath
Not particularly Avernum related, but I often listen to this as generic, pleasant, background music for many games, including this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXjRbDpjKqc
Curious Artila Electrons are Eigenmetric Solitons
Beethoven's 9th is nice, as is The Mars Volta and Steve Reich.

Unflappable Drayk Edgwyn
The Peer Gynt suite, by Greig, especially "In the hall of the mountain king" is one of my favorites for game background music Zaego

Fledgling Fyora mechtech
I have a few suggestions, depending on your mood. I think Avernum generally fits with a more ambient style soundtrack since it has rich ambient sounds and atmosphere. The first would be the Chronicles of Spellborn OST. This has a fantasy, hidden magic and mysteries vibe, and comes from a game that had a very strong focus on ambient sound design. Plug this playlist into this tool and randomize it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLut752Vv-cA1ZPhDlTqfwa8MQFTokyn7F http://youtube-playlist-randomizer.valami.info The second would be the Underrail OST, which has synergy with the underground and alien feel of Avernum (it also takes place underground in a sprawling cave system), even though it has a sci-fi instrument arrangement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftWRSvRbUV0 The Divine Divinity OST is also a good fit. It has a more melodic, magical, high fantasy feel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3wOfUnqsyg&index=30&list=PLF83209B8D42B26DB
Kyshakk Koan googoogjoob
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H3ki1FhBlM "those with no homes to go to, please dig yourself holes" maybe more appropriate for 6, with the overpopulation theme. Unflappable Drayk Edgwyn
The original Bard's Tale trilogy used some great music as well
